New Doves album, really?? Criminally underrated band.

Anyways, I came in here to post this slice of synth pop perfection:

One of my all time favorites and song that drew me into metal.

Thats easy: name one song other than swallowed?

The goldie remix does not count.

New Osees ( formerly Thee Oh Sees) album out this week.
More Psych, garage, punk, prog madness. It's leaked already. Another stunning rock album imho.

Everything Zen? Glycerine? Machinehead? Those are all off the top of my head, as they happen to be on an old compilation album or obscure playlist of mine. Can't remember them doing anything of note after the nineties though and they were definitely very 'flavour of the month' back then.

Edit: or was it early nillies? I forgot.

And now for something completely different:
Re-Style live at Intents Festival 2019

And yes, this really is what I'm currently listening to. Great for typing stuff (or running for that matter).

I've been getting my Jimi on recently as we're coming up to the 50th anniversary of his death (this Friday). My old man was/is a huge fan, Jimi died just a few weeks after he last saw him at the Isle of Wight Festival 1970, my Mum says the day he died was one of just a handful of times she's ever seen my Dad properly cry! They went to the IoW Festival together, they had only been going out for a couple of months at the time.

This little jam called "Villanova Junction" that Jimi played at the end of his Woodstock '69 set has always just completely mesmerised me, it's just so god damn beautiful.

@DUFFMAN5 Thanks for the heads up about the new Doves album, it's an absolute cracker. As good as their first two albums easily. Mother Silverlake wouldn't sound out of place on Jeff Wayne's War of the Worlds.

Second song is out from the new Deftones album. Some real grit in Stef’s guitar this time. The riffs, especially towards the end, have a real Carpe Diem era Will Haven feel to them.

Loving it as well. Good to have them back.

Next month I have the long awaited Tom Petty "Wilflowers" project being released at long last. It is an expanded version of the 1994 stunning album by Tom and produced by Rick Rubin.

Also Roisin Murphy has a new album out in Oct, good times...well for music at least!

The rolling stones - sweet Virginia.

It's close between this and I've got the blues for my favourite song of theirs or maybe dead flowers. So many classics.

Why you say ??? Because they and CC are total and utter class. As for me, I'm playing Horde while I have American recordings vol 1-6 on random and by a Simple Twist of Fate ( ;) ) Rusty Cage just came on 👍👌

Edit: Also as I mentioned before Doves new album is brilliant, totally give that 3 Duff thrusts out of 3.

Nick Mason's Saurcerful of Secrets live

As a total Floyd nut I will take anything PF releated.

Totally impressed, wonderful musicianship from Nick (sounding great) Guy and rest, even Gary Kemp surprised me. Brilliant double album and br of the concert at the Roundhouse.

Hopefully going to see them in Pompey next April, but not sure that will still be on.

Have Roger Waters new br next month as well. 👍

    Rňisín Murphy: Machine
Excellent album pure late 70's sounding Disco-funk.Her last two albums had been more avant-garde. A few of the tracks have been out a while via various sources but even with that it is a great album.

Totally one of my favourite artists.

I've been listening to viking music as I hype myself up for Assassin's Creed Valhalla.

    https://ivarbjrnsoneinarselvik.bandcamp.com/album/hugsj

If that album doesn't make you want to raid the shores of Northumbria and raid the Lindisfarne Abbey, I don't know what will.

If that album doesn't make you want to raid the shores of Northumbria and raid the Lindisfarne Abbey, in a socially distancing manner, and washing your hands for at least twenty seconds after each murder, I don't know what will.
