I'm a big fan of this band but this specific track will take over my life for about 6 months.

Mars Volta are one of those bands part of me doubts that anyone actually really liked. They were always in Kerrang and had loads of marketing for that first album but I don’t think I know anyone who bought it who kept it in rotation for more than maybe a week of trying to like it
I know loads of people who loved them, including myself when I was younger. Listening to them now... not good. I'm not sure there's enough weed in the world to make them listenable.

In hindsight ATDI and Sparta were both far, far superior. It seems ridiculous that anyone ever thought otherwise.

I’m not sure about that. I went to go see Mars Volta at Brixton Academy during the deloused tour. They were an incredible live act. All there other albums were shit though

Amy Winehouse because she died ten years ago yesterday so I thought it's about time I jumped back into back to black deluxe with all those bonus reggae cuts.

There’s another new ‘available for one day only’ covers ep from Two Minutes To Late Night out today. Its songs from the live show this time and they’re all bangers. The Trooper, Purple Rain and Thin Lizzy tracks are all exceptional.

Deloused still bangs, listen to it often. More than any At the Drive In. Can’t really compare the two bands tbh. All the other Volta albums are pretty shit, and they always were

New Fratellis album. First (and half of second) listen on my run this morning. First impressions: I like it, but not as much as either of their last two albums. The last one really grew on me, though.

They’re doing a special edition for online purchase which has a live cover of ‘Yes Sir, I Can Boogie’, which tragically enough I am probably going to buy. Just to maximise the Scotland vibe in advance of the Euros!

If you went to Sonisphere or any one of several major European heavy metal festivals you will probably have seen this crowd walking around at some point.

    Great fun.

I've seen them live a few times, brilliant.

They've just announced a gig at Red Rocks next
    month, proper envy over that.

Tom Petty Wildflowers...and all the rest
I'm a massive TP&THB fan and think Wildflowers might well be the TP Magnificent Octopus, so when this released as a 4 cd box set with out-takes, demo's etc I had to have and it is sublime. The album was always supposed to be a double back in 1994, this basically puts that right.

Caleb Schofield’s last album. Cave In had some real ups and downs over the years and seemed on a real up swing when he was killed writing these demos
