I am mildly disappointed with 12 though, and, personally speaking, it's the weakest PES for several years so 13 had better be something a little more palatable for me to think about picking up my annual PES fix on release.

Seems to be a lot more balanced than last year re. the speed/dribbling being so dominant and shooting's a lot better now, keepers are good, headers still suck.

will set it downloading when i get in! i usually prefer the PC demo, with the demo extender you can normally pick tonnes of other teams

Am impressed. Huge improvement in the animations and am loving the slower pace and feel of the game. Everything seems to feel a bit heavier, which I like. I don't feel like I can take a fast player and just run past everyone.

Will give the PC demo a go later as that is what I will end up getting it on.

But thumbs up so far.

PES team leader Jon Murphy said on Twitter: "PC should be around midday today, PS3 this afternoon, normally around 5pm."

VG247 says that the PC demo's up now - mirror list - so all being well all platforms will have the demo today. :cool:

Yeah its a pain in the ass with bespoke bluetooth drivers and mapping software etc.

I suggest just getting a 360 pad, all games just work with no fuss

Recently posted gameplay vid. That animation and motion in the players and ball has seen nice improvement from last year. Very smooth.

Must admit ive only played 1 game so far, but as an ex pes fan, converted to fifa for the last few years. Im over the moon at this demo. Very very impressed.
Would any pro evo players recommend changing the default controller settings? Think im use to fifa's, will stick at it though if its the way to go.

First impression. Loving it.

I'm liking the positive feedback for the demo.
I'll be downloading tonight and hope that it will bring me back to the world of PES. 6 was the last one I really loved.

Demo is an evolution (no pun intended) certainly not a revolution. Speed slowed a touch, default camera zoomed out a touch. Ball control needs more concentration. There is definitely some depth in there to learn again, but overall I don't see as vastly different from 2012, or even 2011.

Facial modelling improved but it was always good. Menus and UI are still stone age in design of course!

Well, it appears they've fixed the long range shooting if nothing more. 2 30yd screamers in 2 games thus far

I much prefer the slower gameplay (not that it's 'slow' at all, just not as pinball-y as the last couple of years).

Still a few occasions where you are trying to select a defender 5yds from the ball and it not allowing you to select him (same old problem for years now) and it seems that players you pass to sometimes have no interest in receiving the ball even if it goes 6 inches past their toe.

Other than those 2 flaws which seem to be ingrained in PES, it seems far, far better than 12 at least.

Please don't fuck up the shooting at the last minute again Konami!

Please tell me they fixed the shooting! 2012 was really decent apart from the fact that 99% of shots felt like you were kicking a helium balloon at goal.

Not sure if it's a X360 issue, but my impressions are that 12 is teeth-pullingly bad at times.

The difficulty is through the roof, you never seem to connect with headers in the box let alone score them (about 80% of the goals I score seem to be from byline pullbacks, the odd few from tuns in the area with hardly any from outside the box), the AI win 80%+ of balls that are rebounded and the tackling is far too finicky resulting in lots of stop-start matches without it being a dirty game whatsoever.

As I said, it might just be the 360 version, but them's my primary concens that I hope are ironed out of 13. Early impressions are that most of them *seem* so far to be working much better than 12.

@ecureuil I think it's far different, indivuality now feels a lot more defined and it's just a far more polished smoother experience. For me 2012 was a bit too arcade in its speed and liberties taken on the animations to speed up the play from 2011.

The ball doesnt seem to be on elastic, seems more fluid. Again only had one game, but my initial first impressions of 2011/12 it just didnt feel right.
Off to have a few more goes.
