Sigur Ros albums always take a long time to get into I find. Took me weeks to enjoy Agaetis Byrjun and months for it to really have an impact on me. Looking forward to letting the new one get under my skin.

As for ( ), it is indeed an album that takes a very long time to like, but it's brilliant. Certainly wouldn't be the first album I'd recommend to someone who is new to Sigur Ros though. Start with Takk and if that doesn't interest you, knock the band on the head I say :)

Ok will look out for Takk and see if I like that. Will give ( ) another go at some point but have had it for quite a while though.

Ask me anything on reddit from 8pm and I think there's some new material from the next album going up on their web site also.

Agaetis Byrjun I found to be an absolutely religious experience the first time I listened to it. And Takk... I first listened to while trekking in Nepal. It was scarily appropriate for mountain climbing.

( ) is proving a little more difficult, but I am getting there. I still wouldn't rate it on the same level though.

() is my favorite, although I've listened to it so much I don't listen to it as much anymore.
I've got inni on Bluray and through my 5.1 headphones it sounds incredible.

I saw them at Brixton last night, simply amazing, probably the best gig I've ever been to. They've added a horn and string section for more umph.

They played 3 new songs last night and each one was excellent, which bodes well for the new album out later this year.

And Popplagiš has to be the one of the most epic and most fitting songs to end a show ever created by anyone ever.

    I'm gushing aren't I.

I once got shushed at Sigur Ros gig for opening a can of beer. True story.

Lucky you didn't have your limbs ripped off, that's what they would have done to you in Iceland.

Takk... is probably their most consistent album.

But I still have a soft spot in my heart for ( ) which I personally think is their best album. I just prefer the more shoe gaze style sound they played with and all the little creaks and crackles that bubbled up under the music.

Shame they have gone progressively down hill since Takk... though.

I'm listening to the title track off their new one and I'm pleasantly surprised. My previous thoughts on Sigur Ros have been that they're a bit wet, but if this song is anything to go by Kveikur is more like something I'd listen to.

The song sounds a bit like Muse occasionally and it's not amazing, but an unexpected step in the right direction. Fair play.

The sound is a lot harsher and angrier than what I'm used to. At least so far (listening to the free stream atm).

Saw them at eden project last night. They were MAGNIFICENT. Really were. The sound was incredible, jonsi voice spectacular, the light show mezmerizing.

The first few songs were annoying that people were moving around and that. The eden project stage is set in a small ampitheartre, in that theres a bank of grass around the concrete centre, we were sat up near the back of that bank , and people started standing up, sitting down, and took a while for people to decide what to do, in the end i just stood up and had a great view over the top of everyone.

But once i did stand up, i just lost my self, a nice mix of old songs and new, and there new stuff, aside from there first single, really does sound like older sigur ros live than it does on record.

They were incredible, so tight, the only thing is the drummer sounded a bit muted, but not sure if it was loss of sound and having needing to be more near the front.

    Second time of seeing them.
