Probably in response to their reported money problems this week, 28 Studios have given us the first look at Project Copernicus. The video is just a fly through of some of the game's environments.

It's pretty, but also pretty generic looking. 7 years in the making so far, anyone want to place a bet that this will ever be released?

    Anyone?

    38 studios :p

And I strongly suspect this is somewhat doomed given the currently shifting landscape of the mmo genre.

Looks as generic as their singleplayer, what a waste of public money to fund this.

Court documents have come to light which illustrate the state of 38 "group"'s finances:
38 Studios LLC said it owes between $100 million and $500 million to at least 1,000 creditors, many of them in Rhode Island, court documents show. The parent company estimated its assets at between $10 million and $50 million and told the court it does not expect it will have any funds available to pay off unsecured creditors.

In addition, 38 Studios Baltimore LLC said it owes between $50 million and $100 million to at least 200 creditors, documents show. The Baltimore subsidiary, which estimated its assets at between $500,001 and $1 million, is the former Big Huge Games studio that produced 38 Studios’ debut game, “Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning,” which was released in February.

Two other subsidiaries, Mercury Project LLC and Precision Jobs LLC, each disclosed $100 million to $500 million in liabilities owed to fewer than 49 creditors, along with less than $50,000 in assets.
A formal investigation by various authorities is commencing:
“The state police, the attorney general’s office, the U.S. Attorney’s office and the FBI are opening an investigation into 38 Studios, both the money that came from the state as well as the money that came from Bank Rhode Island,”
    source.
