Come on. He's not that bad.
True. He keeps them in the attic so they can get some light.

I have to admit the constant Nintendo trolling can really get wearisome at times, and sometimes even deeply unpleasant, with personal insults flying everywhere. It all seems a bit needless. Yes, I know some people have their reasons, but really I'd have thought personal insults aren't necessary.

It's probably just me that feels this way though, and as ever the likes of the many outweight the tenuous Star Trek reference I'm going for here :)

As for The Bomb, I'm at a point where I don't really need a Bomb from my E3. I'm happy with just a few nice firecrackers that are familiar, yet bring something new to the table. Or if not that, a metaphor that makes sense.

That's true, unless you know some secret insider info. Wii U Tango Online confirmed? You stand up, dance and the screen shows your partners feet from their camera. Extra points for not mangling your online partners virtual feet into paste (which the GamePad realistically simulates on screen).

    Loving the gifs btw.
Was it that guy outside the Developer Conference that started the "The Bomb" meme? If so it's the best PR stunt in the history of videogaming.

    Do you mean this guy?

I'm not sure but some of the GIFS are superb :-)

Yes, that's the one. That is the first time I got in contact with "the bomb". (Doesn't mean that is where it originated though)

But I remember reading that he was a hired gun.

The Bomb started off as the "megaton" announcement nearly a decade ago:

After so many years of 'bombs' becoming damp squibs I think most people use it with a hint of irony now. Yourself excepted.

Can I just ask - how long am I looking at being banned for should I post some porn on the forum?

Yes, none of this is humorous, tongue-in-cheek or ironic, everything I post in this thread is deadly serious and should be scrutinised and whinged about ad nauseum.

It really is unbelievable that the biggest crime on a gaming forum is to be enthusiastic and joking when posting about consoles and games.

Seriously though, your track record has proven that when it comes to N-Bombs you are in the driving seat of the hype train and aren't being "ironic" at all. Just frothing at the mouth. If your previous account wasnt GI'd I'd be able to link to dozens and dozens of examples.

You spent a page and a half arguing with DDevil over whether the Wii U online features were actually an improvement or not. A page later it transpires that you've never even gamed online with the 360 or PS3.

That's not being enthusiastic; that's being uninformed at best, and it's fanboy trolling at worst.

I'm entirely happy to engage with you in threads where you're talking about shit you actually know (well, 'happy' is probably the wrong word and 'shit you actually know' won't amount to much) - but your pro-Nintendo hardon is an established fact which makes it hard to take anything you type at face value, know what I mean?

Plenty of enthusiastic posters all over the site, and it's rare for them to get smacked down (check out the Gears: Prequel of Shite thread, for example). There's probably a lesson there somewhere.

Put me on ignore and stop boring the thread and forum to death with this tedious, petty shite.
    Thanks.

    @Phattso:
Regarding Ecosse, he was a hardcore Nintendo fanboy a few years ago and IMO still is (not as much as before granted), but it does seem that many users keep picking on him even when he's making reasonable posts...

I've suggested he ignore some of the main offenders (which I believe he has) but obviously you can't ignore mods...
So how about if the guy genuinely upsets you, you could, you know, leave him be?

If people think he's just a blinkered fanboy either ignore or discuss it...But the personal insults and mean-spirited posts are a tad too much these days...It's E3 damnit, probably the time of the year where speculation is most rampant, hopes are highest, claims are exaggerated, hype is full blast and threads like these should be allowed I reckon...

    My 2 cents FWIW...

@AcidSnake: I didn't wake up today with the intention of rowing with Ecosse, I promise. :) I was reading the thread because, like most of us, I'm excited about E3. If I hadn't found idiocy here, I wouldn't have reacted to it. The fact it came from a usual suspect is incidental.

I also withdrew from the conversation many times, and Ecosse wished to continue. Also I've never been convinced that "ignore" is sensible anyway. With the prevalence of quoting you're never free of anyone for long, and it makes many threads a muddle to read.

As an aside, I'm not a "moderator" in the strictest sense - I'm just here to clean up the spammers while you lot are asleep, so I'm certainly not trying to be heavy handed in that respect. I think Ecosse is a bit of a tool, but I'm not about to ban him for it or anything. I'm reacting as a forumite only.

Anyways, I'm looking forward to seeing the Wii U games tomorrow. And also getting some hands on impressions from the press and attendees. I'd love for there to be, just for once, and actual Bomb of an announcement. I've been enjoying the 3DS, fucking stupid joystick addon aside, and I'm really hoping Nintendo can translate that new direction into their new console.

Phattso, your "withdrawing from the conversation many times" is pure fantasy and your repeated insults are hardly in the spirit of someone who doesn't want to row.
Can we just drop this for good?

I said I didn't get up with the intention of having a row, not that I wasn't willing to be in this one now that we apparently are. I did, in fact, try to steer the thread back on course a couple of times.

That I don't hide my dislike for you (or more particularly your forum persona, because I don't know you from Adam of course) at all well is a shame, and be assured that I do my very best to avoid you the vast majority of my time.

But today I, possibly like many others, came into this thread looking for "The Bomb" and in fact just found "The Plum". :)

    @Phattso:
Fair enough, just thought things were getting a bit too much (not by you but the general rule of picking on Ecosse first, checking what he wrote later)...Not only must it get annoying for him, it's also quite annoying for others who just want to discuss "The Bomb" without reading back-and-forths the whole time... :)

So without further ado, my predictions/hopes for The Bomb:
    - Eternal Darkness 2 confirmed launch title, draw runes on the pad to cast your spells
    - F-Zero UX announced
    - New New Super Mario Bros included in launch package along with Wii U Sports
    - Wii U Fit announced
    - Pikmin 3 launch title
    - Metroid Universe made by Retro...Usual stuff, but with clear integration of the Miiverse...Call on other bounty hunters to help you out at certain points (sort of like Dark/Demon's Souls) up to 4 players...A story involving more moral decisions...Do bad stuff and you'll be "corrupted" more making you a "prime" target for other bounty hunters...
    - New IP about a magical animal or something with lots of kid appeal and gestures to draw on the tablet...NFC usage...

    Or pie charts...Anything's possible...
