Registered 18 years agoMicrosoft and Sony basically admitted that they have next to fuck all of worth to talk about (that we didn't, really, already know) because all eyes are on their next gen offerings and they're a year away from a reveal.
So to win hearts and minds, with brand new potentially very exciting hardware just around the corner and a track record of amazing software, all Nintendo had to do was get up on stage for a few minutes and _not_ shit themselves publicly.
I think the renamed thread title is all too apt..gif)
But I'm gutted - Pikmin 3 aside there's nothing there to get too excited about. When Wii U is released it'll be like the first 9 months of the 3DS, and probably worse.

You've got shit in your pants. Shit in your pants needs dealt with. You have to go, clean yourself up, and generally deal with the situation.
Or to extend it further, imagine following through on a packed lift. You can't deal with it there and then. The smell of the shit you've got in your pants is going to spread and infect that whole lift. If you've got co-workers in there, they'll talk about it. They'll talk about YOU.
You see, a Shart is an event. It is something that changes the status of something. To call the Nintendo Wii U conference a Shart is significantly overstating it's importance. It's not even that, it's a nothing. Don't get me wrong, I'm still looking forward to Wii U, but no thanks to anything they announced recently.
It wasn't even a fruity fart or a risky bum burble that could've went either way. It was nothing. At best, one of those farts you think might happen, but it just ebbs away, never to return.
