I'm fully hooked on the show now, as is the mrs after I forced her to watch the first few episodes. I just wish I'd put more time into the game as I missed all the cross over stuff.

Wasnt a bad finale and one of the reasons I like defiance is that it keeps moving forward.

Sadly, the one bit of status quo they *have* to keep is nolan being alive, so when he was offed it became a guessing game as to how they would reverse it.

    'Time machine!'
    'Nanobots!'
    'Magic!'
    'Omega 13!'

Which kind of sucks the drama out of it. Nice to see they didnt immediately resurrect the ho, tho (even though she pretty clearly isnt dead).

Bought the game yesterday, just watched the first episode.

Is it just me, or did anyone else do a double take on Nolan, looking like Lee Mack?

Seems a fun game, even if just single player with other people running around.
    Hope the show gets better.

The finale for series 2 was great. Anyone know what theoretical method of propulsion that is?

Wasn't that season 3? Season 2 ended with Nolan and Irisa frozen in the escape pods.

I've stuck with both the show and the game so far and I'm still enjoying both quite a lot, though the links between them have got looser and looser with time. Season 1 had events crossing between them, with you interacting with characters from the show so the narrative went both ways - Defiance needed help, you did the helping in the game, then the show would show the results of your fine work. It was pretty cool :)

Season 2 had missions that vaguely sort of linked to stuff that was mentioned in the show and doing stuff for them, but it was always one way. Stahma arrived and asked for help, you helped, that was it. You help Nolan out with something, he says thanks and leaves to never mention it again. It was still nice, but it was pretty clear the collaboration was less important and was basically "Nolan won't be in Defiance at this time, so you can have him in the game for a while".

Season 3 has pretty much nothing. That's okay though, I still like both. The show is obviously held back a bit by it's budget, and the pacing tends to be a bit off, but it's still not scared to take the story in directions you might not have considered. The game has turned out a bit stronger for it too as it can take its story in a unique direction.

I do hope the TV show gets another season as I'd really love to see the further adventures of Nolan (especially in the position he's in now) and how Defiance continues. It's still cool having the shared universe too, despite the links not being as strong.

    It's dead Jim.

I guess the end of season 3 was sort of a natural end to the show with Nolan leaving Earth but it's a bit of a shame all the same.

    :(

I was hoping for at least a mini-series of Captain Nolan: Space Explorer, but its days were always numbered. Heck, I'm surprised there was a season 3 given falling rating, so I'm pretty happy we got to wrap it up. Like you say Whizzo, it did feel like a natural place to stop the show. I do hope they keep some of the storylines in other media like books or comics.

The game is also an obvious place to take some bits of the story, though not everything, but with the Tarr family already having a foot in San Francisco's door, it wouldn't be impossible to have a Season 4 in the game with them visiting.

I did think the end of S3 felt like it was intended to be an "out", one way or another. With Nolan out of the picture, any subsequent series would really have to move away from Defiance and just be set in the same world; not a spin-off in the usual sense, more a case of "we've told that story, here's the next one".
