I'm currently in New Zealand for the year and I'm thinking of purchasing a PSP while I'm here. I really want a Vita but I can't really justify spending over $600 that could be used to fund travelling instead. The PSP is really cheap here (about $150).

My question is this:

I have a PSN account back at home and since that's an EU account, I'm guessing there would be no point in me logging in with it as I'd have to buy euro PSN cards to purchase games from the PSN store? I want to get FFVII so would I be best to just set up a separate NZ account and buy PSN credit here?

Either way I'll wait until E3 is over to see what happens with the Vita. I doubt it will see a price reduction but maybe some good bundles will be offered. I thought about the E-1000 but no wifi means no FFVII since my laptop is back in Ireland.

Any suggestions are welcome.

Hopefully it will be released in New Zealand as well.

You could always buy Euro PSN cards from Shopto, assuming they let you. They cost slightly less than cover price, too.

Don't think so. Not got wifi has it...? Surely you should be able to pick up a decent PSP2000/3000 for the same price as an E-1000

Can I just clarify something? Have you got wifi or not?

If not, there's no way to hook up a PSP (or Vita for that matter) to the Internet and without a computer, your last option is to download them through a PS3.

Also, PS1 classics aren't compatible with Vita yet

Yeh I'll have wifi when I need it. Can you believe Mc Donalds of all places in NZ has really fast broadband, faster than the house I'm in at the moment. That's probably where'll I'll go to d/l PSN games as I'll be travelling. I'm going to wait and see the outcome from E3 and then pop into EG Games and have a look.

Ok so I'm just about to get 2 PSP's in EB Games. They're selling the used 3000 for $160 and the E-1000 for $189 plus the E comes with 3 games for that price. Seems like a no brainer to get the E but can I connect it up to a random computer (mine's back in Ireland) and d/l PSN games to the comp. and then transfer them onto the E?

Yeah, you can do that. I presumed you were talking about internet cafes and the like, which probably wouldn't let you, but if you can borrow a PC from someone then that'll work fine.

Back on the fence again. No memory cards are included with the deal and they only had 4GB cards at $40 a pop so that adds $80 to the total. Cheers for the info on Media Go.
