I'm just gonna go ahead and start a thread for this even though I have no info and nobody seems interested. Gotta love Ellen Page, right? Details Trailer Edited by King_Edward at 12:41:51 05-06-2012 |

Pretty much. Still everything Cage has produced has started out great and quickly nosedived into complete stupidity in about 5 to 10 minutes.

Registered 11 years agoI love the idea, he just hasn't got it quite right yet. The opening to Fahrenheit was one of the best in any game I've ever played, and Heavy Rain had a few great moments.
Oddly I think Asura's Wrath came closest to nailing it.

Registered 16 years agoFahrenheit had one of the most stunning openings I've ever come across, a murder in a bathroom with the player thrust into the role of the apparent killer, the deed is already done, what happens now? Flee? Try to conceal evidence?
Extremely effective, sadly it didn't maintain that level throughout, it's still a game I wouldn't part with, I don't buy the argument that a story can be too 'crazy' it's a matter of good and bad writing, that's where the failure lay.
Heavy Rain also had it's moments, there's a lot of games I wish I'd never wasted time with, much of Rock Stars extremely well regarded output for instance, Heavy Rain once again has some extremely effective sections. Would you give up a body part when coerced and motivated?
I didn't want to. That moment was worth more than a thousand janky, 'Oscar worthy' Rock Star cutscenes.
Maybe Beyond: Two Souls will be the most successful execution of Cage's ideas yet, even if it falls short, it's probably going to interesting at the very least. -

Registered 11 years agoWell there was last time and the time before, so it seems silly to assume it would be a problem this time. -

Like what? Some walls to take cover behind? A world map? Inventory for weapons? I don't see why the formula has to change from Heavy Rain whatsoever.

Its like requesting that Secret Of Monkey Island has some platforming elements added as its just clicking on words and shit. Did you play Ghost Trick and get frustrated that all you could do was connect the lines between dots and "activate"? Sword and Sworcery wasn't exactly laden with control dexterity.
There is something about the input mechanic actually suiting the experience that is trying to be conveyed. -

Registered 14 years agoThis trailer was the highlight of the 3 pre-E3 press conferences for me.
Not quite sure what that says about me when my highlight had no gameplay shown at all. -

Registered 14 years agoI hope they can avoid putting an excruciatingly embarrassing sex scene in this one. Those scenes were magnets for the other half walking in a giving you a disgusted look.
Though since the romantic interest seems to be her head, the move motions should be interesting. -

It was probably all gameplay with hidden button prompts and dialogue options.

It's raining quite heavy in the gameplay video. -_-
That said, the...hmmm...spoilers I guess for those who didn't watch the gameplay...
ghosty bits could be interesting if given enough freedom. -
