Try the recipe, but don't get disheartened if you don't pull it off first time. It takes many tries to conquer, and many years to master.

I'm not sure my culinary skills could stretch to such delights.

I tried the recipe and found it far too fiddly. Plus it's a bit marmite. The kids loved it but the wife thought it was disgusting.

I found this comment rather amusing. :)

"Does it matter what side of the toast the marmite goes on?"

Swap the marmite with peanut butter and the bayleaf with salad cream and you've got yourself a winner.

"This is a GREAT recipe, and not too time-consuming. I had to make a few substitutions (a jacket potato for the bread, cheese for the Marmite, and chopped spring onion for the bayleaf), but it still turned out really well."

    Typical Goodfood comment that one.

    /flags as inappropriate

Is it a fresh bay leaf or a scummy dried one?
