Has to be. Now it doesn't have a crappy ARM processor; has the full windows desktop; and you can use a proper stylus with it...

Registered 18 years agoAh, found the specs.
There's two versions. One with Windows RT and one with Windows 8 Pro. I'm assuming Windows RT is Windows 8 with just Metro.

Registered 15 years agoPriced like comparable tablets based on ARM? Intriguing.
It'll be interesting to see how it does, looks great. -
Yeah, RT is Windows Lite, only works with App store stuff. Windows Pro is full version run anything Windows. -

Registered 18 years agoFrom the press release:
Surface for Windows RT will release with the general availability of Windows 8, and the Windows 8 Pro model will be available about 90 days later. Both will be sold in the Microsoft Store locations in the U.S. and available through select online Microsoft Stores.
So should be August I think. -

Registered 20 years agoOnly problem is the Intel tablet is set to price about the same as an ultrabook, and no one's buying ultrabooks because they're still too bloody expensive. Meanwhile, the ARM tablet looks to cost the same as other ARM tablets (I hope they're referring to Android things, rather than iPads) but features a locked down OS with missing APIs and an (at present) completely empty app store. -
