Registered 20 years agoMeh. I've already played this twice. Makes you wonder why we haven't had a sequel yet - oh, that's right, because you fired the developers, Capcom. -

Registered 18 years agoClover/Platinum never strike me much as people who love making sequels anyway, tbh (VJ2 was more like the second half of the first game than an actual sequel - certainly something that Okami didn't need). -

I only played a few minutes of Okami on the PS2, so it's definitely not "meh" for me.

Bought it on PS2. Played for like 15 minutes.
Still got it somewhere.
Somewhere.
Not that my PS2 works anymore. Or that I have any inclination to try and play it again.
Ever. -

Maybe if there was a grey/brown tint and I could shoot people in the face it might be good.

:-D
I jest, of course.
After all the great things I heard about it at the time, and great things were said, I wanted to take a dive. But upon loading the game I was pretty much instantly bored. I don't know what it was, be it the art style, the characters, or the gameplay, but nothing seemed to grab me, at all. I wanted to like it, after all, it costs money, nobody likes wasting money, but I couldn't. And I was sad.
It's a shame really, I mean, that £40 or so could've gone on something more useful.
Oh well. -

Re: Okami, it's a good game but it's about 10 hours too long and really drags at the end. -
Shame they're only doing this one for PS3, because I would've probably caved and bought a 360 version even though I played it to death on the PS2.
Awesome game. If you've never played it then a purchase should be mandatory. Unless Capcom screw it up. -

They changed the colors for the Wii version - not good.
And I do hope for some physical release but somehow I doubt that... -

Registered 15 years agoSince it's almost guaranteed to sell poorly, a physical release would be foolish. I'd much rather they release it digitally and make some profit from it; that would encourage further forays into this area. -
@Dangerous_Dan: You'd have to ask Sony that.
Didn't they also remove the awesome 'paper' filter from the Wii version too? That'd better make it through intact this time.

They's didn't completely remove it but it was so watered down it was hardly noticable.

The Wii version gained widescreen, pointer controls and more vibrant colours but lost the filter effect, the PS3 version should have everything and be in HD.
If that is the case there's not a chance that I'll be able to resist, the first time I brought an area back to life my jaw dropped, one of my finest gaming memories. -
I'd kill for a proper sequel, but chances are Capcom would screw it up if they did it on their own.
I tried to play the DS version but it's just.... I can't do DS games. Can't. -

Registered 13 years agoThis was one of the finest games of the last gen. Great news, and will definitely be a purchase.
Would be awesome on Vita, as would Okamiden - just with less loading screens please. -
I'd always hoped for a Clover Studios Bundle with Viewtiful Joe and Killer 7 bundled but this is great news none the less.
And a touch screen Vita version would be the wolfs bollocks. -

As it is with today's news, i did a little dance. My only concern is that Capcom aren't known for producing HD ports to the same quality as Sony's own. The comparison video in the article does give me some hope though.
