What song reminds me of "Keep the car running"?

This is a tricky one. Everytime I hear Keep the car running by The Arcade Fire it reminds me of a song from the 80's or maybe early 90's.

Thinking of the song reminds me of never gonna give you up but I don't think its Rick Astley who sings it.

No idea but the lead singer sounds a bit like Robert Smith from The Cure.

The song I'm thinking of is more mainstream than The Cure. A bit like "Wicked Game" with Cris Isaac but more light rock.

Damn it. Really annoying. The song is a guilty pleasure and everytime I hear it I think I should look it up but then I never do and now I can't remember the lyrics.

Reminds me of early Mercury Rev. Like most of their stuff does.

Wait. You think Rick Astley is 'light rock'? Did I read that right?

@Murbal No but I can see how it looks that way. I was trying to say that the song I'm thinking of is more 80's light rock (in lieu of a better word for it) than Wicked Game. The song I'm trying to remember is probably not Rick Astley though.

My mum always says Arcade Fire remind her of T-Rex. Dunno if that helps.

Reminds me of some of the 'celtic' bands from the early 90s, like The Levellers.

Arcade Fire, Astley, Chris Isaak - bit of a spectrum there! :)

Billy Idol maybe? Don Henley's Boys of summer?

The Cutter (Echo & the Bunnymen). Maybe. I've heard that song twice in the past week though, so it's stuck in my head.
