Registered 10 years agoJust got back from watching this and holy crap did I enjoy it! It's definitely more of a sci fi adventure than the usual superhero stuff and all the better for it imho. They got the cast spot on. -

Registered 15 years agoSaw the first 20 minutes this afternoon and it was excellent! I wouldn't know about the rest of it yet as the projector broke down. *sigh* about to try again! -

It just went black, no image, but we could still hear the audio. Then they told us to hang on to see if they could fix it. Then they said no the bulb was too hot to change and could try again later only to find it still broken.
Ah, the beauty of digital projectors.
If the code on the DCP is rejected they are pretty much fucked! -
Did they try hitting it -

Registered 15 years agoThat reminds me of the Hear no Movie, See no Movie thing I think Machinima started doing, where one would listen to the audio, and another would just watch it without sound to try and produce internet funniez.
Really stupid fucking idea. -

Registered 14 years agoSaw this last night and it was good! No plot, as per usual with these things, but the characters and effects get you through!
I so want that mix tape track list, googling now! -

Registered 8 years agoyeah caught it last night too. Enjoyed it. No plot, but i really enjoyed being around the characters and there 'own issues' sub plot stuff really made up for it. Good old fashioned space film really. Nice to see a good light hearted, fun blockbuster that had a) no fog horns and b) had no intentions of taking it self seriously. -

Registered 8 years agoWatched the trailer, looked terrible. How often is the rat thing in it? I'm too old to enjoy a film with a talking rat or what ever animal it is. -
Talking rat thing? Did you see a trailer for TMNT or something? -

It's not a massive criticism, but it boiled down tostop the bad guy from hitting a planet with his hammer. It in no way stopped me enjoying the film, which again was super fun and prob the best Marvel film since Iron Man.

Captain America 2, had more of a plot than any other marvel film so far and did that well - so there's plenty of room for all tropes at the summer blockbuster table!

By exactly the same argument, Cap 2 boiled down to stop the helicarriers getting into the sky.

Various versions on spotify and you can buy the official soundtrack although you could probably get the songs for about £2 by buying service station compilation tapes.

Yeah, I don't think it's really fair to call the climax of the film the entire plot. It was about throwing the team together and their individual stories coming together at the end.

Saw it for the second time tonight, really love it. Just such a lot of fun. Cinema was terrible though, spending week in Kuwait visiting family and no one in this country knows how to behave. Kids chatting and shouting, people taking phone calls, people surfing the internet, people taking photos of the screen with their flash on, etc. Plus they cut a bunch of things out at random. Bit when Starlord gives the middle finger was cut and the word 'dick', although they allowed bitch, bastard and price. Weird, and very jarring. -
