Well, the Galaxy S III is nearly £350 SIM free in most places and unless Nokia price their new phones aggressively, they won't stand a chance ... the Lumia 820 should be targeting less than £400 full stop whereas the Lumia 920 was always likely to be £500.

Registered 13 years agoQuite liking the colored borders around the phones, I'm guessing it's some sort of riff on the idea of the phone being a window to your friends or something? -

Registered 16 years agoVery underwhelming stuff but a lot had been leaked weeks ago. How many people were expecting Instagram when they revealed Pandora? That cracked me up
(and also it's a huge negative regardless of your feelings towards the app).
Again, pricing and availability are a mess.
On a side note, the 8X reviews are very positive and if it had 32GB I would probably get that over the 920. -

No SIM free prices...?
I know the camera on the Nokia 920 is marvellous and they also have some exclusivity deal with some apps, but the HTC 8X looks really good too. Oh, do hurry up and announce your prices now please! -

Registered 12 years agoNovember 9th?? Bah. I've been sitting on this upgrade since March
My 'new shiny' needs are currently being provided by my Surface, but I've been waiting on Nokia's WP8 flagship for so long! -

Ah, it seems that the HTC 8S is £239 whereas the 8X is £399 ... not bad actually.

The Nokia 820 needs to be priced somewhere in-between those two though (about £319-339) whilst the Nokia 920 is going to be at least £500 or more, but then we always knew it was going to be! -

Registered 12 years agoI'm trying to get my head around 'upgrading' from Orange to EE to get the Lumia 920. So far it seems to be a mixture of confusion and piss-taking. -

Registered 18 years agoNot worth it. I would just wait for prices to settle on handsets and wait until the other companies are 4G.
You look at the Nexus 4 price, think it's £279 for 16GB and compare to prices of the HTC and 920. Very expensive. -

Registered 12 years agoThe annoying thing is that I've been sitting on an upgrade since March and it seems as if, instead of keeping my current 18 month, £35 contract, I have to cancel and start up an expensive two-year contract with EE. The amounts of data they're offering are awful.
I might go into one of their shops and try and get a deal, and just tell them to stick it if they're stubborn. -
Nothing stopping you from buying a phone of your choosing then just chucking in a sim that suits you like GiffGaff. £10 unlimited texts and data, 250 mins.
Personally i got sick of 2 year contracts as your paying extra for a phone, which wont keep 2 years anyway. Remember £40 X 24 = £960 then deduct £240 for the line rental and you basically paid £720 for the phone. And if sell/replace after 1 year it will hold value better than if after 2 years.
If want to join giffgaff use my link for extra £5 credit:

Registered 12 years agoCheers for the link. That does seem a good deal, but I can't really afford an unlocked Lumia 920 in the short-term - I just blew a load of cash on the Surface. If I come across a few hundred quid, I'd definitely do that. -
WPCentral are saying that the Lumia 920 is only exclusive to EE until the end of the year, although Nokia do have an option to extend. Looks like I might be waiting until January to upgrade and see if it shows up on Three. O2 have already confirmed that they'll be carrying it in the future, so its possible. If EE tariffs are a bit much, or like 70% of the population, 4g isn't an option for you, the 920 will be available on both Orange and T-Mobile. -

MARCH! -
Nokia 820 on sale at Clove for £399.98 with stock due late next week.
It's the cost of the 8X which is a much better phone but you do get access to the Nokia apps and a MicroSD slot.
