| Even my game-hating gf commented on both how discrete and quiet the PC is and how fantastic Alan Wake looks. |

I'll grab a photo of it some time, all I have is the one picture of the outside:

I just wanted to get my one working to start with... without going through the efforts of taping stuff to the edges and gubbins.

Anyone know the difference between a h77 board and a z77??
Specifically these two:

Thanks AB. So in a nutshell don't bother unless you're gonna get an ivy bridge processor right? -

For future proofing id go with a z77 unless the price difference is large and you're on a budget. -

Nope. It's more if you want the option to overclock an unlocked K series CPU get the Z77, if not get the H77.

Z boards in general should have better quality components since the H boards are generally more mainstream and cost less, while the Z series are the flagship chipsets for enthusiasts and people wanting to do overclocking.
If the difference is only £8, get the Z77. -
Right bought all my shit, it arrived today and I've put it all together. However I have a problem.
I did not realize that slimline optical drives have a different smaller sata power input and there's no lead to be found anywhere.
Where can I get one of these and what would it be called? -
Found it. Unsurprisingly its called mini sata. -
So I'm going to be building myself a gaming HTPC in the next month or so. Budget of around £500.
Just looking for any advice really. Will be hooking it up to a AV receiver via HDMI.
