It is the quickest most rewarding way though. Especially since the hot fix with experience. I don't need to be spending hours upon hours levelling a character properly again. I have multiple 100's all at various stages of raiding. I maximise experience where I can in the fastest most efficient way possible, it's much easier and faster to do stage 1 and 2 without flying. If you want to do it all, do it all, go for it but you can't talk down to people who enjoy different things to you. |

So, I actually experienced, for the first time, a load of people logging after P2, and it has a massive detrimental effect to P3. What normally takes about 10 minutes ended up taking more than twice that.
So yeah, I kinda think if you log after P2 your a bit of a knob. -

Again. You are breaking the good damn game, is what you're doing. You are not doing a thing that's fine and dandy. You exploit a flaw in the system, spoiling the fun for everyone else. Of course everyone else has turned rotten too.

You're just as much at fault, as Blizzard for leaving in the loophole you're abusing - but I guess the finer point of wrecking the event is lost on you. Not a shred of empathy.
The fucked up thing is, at the very latest from lvl 60 onwards, if the loophole was closed, and if everybody did the events as intended, you'd actually make more XP quicker, and you'd haul more loot/money to boot, all the while actually engaging the game, rather than turning off your brain to the point of complete mental vacancy.
The point is, if an event is designed for 100 players, and 100 players start the event, and then there's but 1 player fighting the final boss, then two things are broken as all hell. The event. The whole gosh darn player base.
I completely understand that you feel cheated that people log off after stage two. As I said before its down to what you want to get out of it, I want experience, up to
Osixty the easiest way is logging out after sixty the easiest way is doing it all.
I've experienced both sides, and I've not had a huge drop
in players in stage three. Your experience is different to mine.
Edit: if I'm coming across a knob it isn't my intention by the way, I just play the game different to you regarding invasions, we only have another day of it before legion comes out! And then we'll all be complaining about something else!

Having mained a rogue for several tiers I can guarantee energy regeneration isn't a problem once you get a couple of decent bits.
The mechanics work very differently in an actual raid environment.

I was in a grumpy mood yesterday so I apologise for calling anyone a knob.
Less than 5 hours now! I'm more excited than I have any right to be. -
PvE server, so no ganking here.
I'm cautiously optimistic that it'll be a smoother experience than WoD's launch. The "shard" tech they've developed, along with not having a single bottleneck for everyone like the garrison, might lead to more stable servers.
On the other hand, it might just crash when everyone tries to get into Dalaran
I wont do an all-nighter or anything, but will probably get the artifact out the way and then see how the mood takes me. I'm in no rush, I'm going to take everything in.

Registered 17 years agoFor those complaining about the P2 invasions. Just dont do the Azshara one. It seems to be the only one suffering (horde side at least) from non completion of P3. I did one last night and moved to P3, with only 1 other dude... Gave up and farmed P1/P2 with everyone else till 98 (was 93 anyway) then followed up all the quests/lore and finished off in the Barrens doing a full invasion. Worked out nicely. -
Level 102 now, just about finished the Stormhein chain. Love how that zone looks, like Howling Fjord 2.0. Still not quite as good, mind.
Biggest gripe is that the"bonus" objectives that crop up are a little too grindy for my tastes; they could do with being maybe 25% quicker.
Still, all in all its been a pretty successful launch. No crashes, no bottlenecks. Zones are busy without being too-busy. Heard of a couple of bugged quests, but nothing game breaking. The smoothest expac launch I've seen in WoW. -

stayed up to about 2.00am and got to level 102. It was a very smooth launch, all things considered; only issue I (and about 5 million other people in High Mountain!) ran into was during the Huin scenario in the early HM zone quest line.
Dalaran was absolutely RAMMED last night! -

Registered 14 years agoSurprisingly smooth launch, although the opening sections of the expansion are instananced to fuck this time around which is clearly the way to go after WoD and it's clusterfuck launch.
I'm still not liking the changes to my Demo Warlock though. I feel like they didn't really know what to do with the respec as the ideas are very half baked.
Might play through the expansion as a Demon Hunter as they are a lot of fun to play when you work out their play style is all about being on the move in combat.

So considering how much I disliked the press for Legion throughout the build up (Gul'dan - Permavillain), I actually really enjoyed the Demon Hunter introductory stuff. There is something much purer and simplistic about a bum load of demons invading over their previous angle of time travelling orcs etc. -
It really bugs me that the Dalaran Hearthstone doesn't get sorted next to the regular hearthstone in my bag. -

@Furtive_Pygmy
I guess... but then other stuff in there might not be sorted
106 now, have all my artifacts, but just sticking to destruction for now. Done the main quest chains in Stormheim and Azsuna, as well as a bit of Order Hall stuff.

Fair play to Blizzard though, silky smooth launch. And very streamlined (if soulless) questing so far. -

Registered 14 years agoI don't know what they can do to change up the questing in the game... but I think questing itself should be the thing they overhaul in the inevitable next expansion.
It's always nice to come back to the game with a fresh expansion but when it quickly becomes clear you're just going to be killing 10 of one thing while clicking on 20 of another thing in most zones, the tedium does soon set in. -

On my server it's been complete meltdown for the last couple of hours. I am on a busy realm though granted, and it's still better than WoD's launch, but yeah. Been a bit of a disaster today.

Not really sure how they could change the questing in any meaningful way, other than making the narrative and writing better, which they are trying to do. And I think not entirely unsuccessfully; the stories told in questing have had stronger through-lines in recent expansions. Though based on the zones I played I still think MoP did the best story-telling.
I really don't mind the quest mechanics at all, I can see why people don't, but I know what I'm getting. I kinda think it's at a decent spot now, not too breezy and not too arduous. -

Registered 11 years agoMonk is 106 now and getting really good with the artifact weapon, I'm not going big into raiding this time around so I'm playing around with a couple of characters at the moment.
Been playing around with my hunter and druid as well, druid in feral form look awesome! -
Enjoying it so far, nothing that isn't going to stop me burning out after a month but I'm loving wandering around the class hall with the fucking DOOM HAMMER vaguely pretending other players are just my minions.
