Hey, just be happy you'll be experiencing everything for the first time when the game goes live. To be honest I envy you a bit :)

Anyone know where I can actually get WoW Collectors Edition here in the UK. No website seems to have it.

I've just spent time I should have been doing some problem sheets playing WoW as an Orc Shaman called Gametard. I've pretty much just been soloing up till now, but somebody invited me into a group and we went and completed loads of quests, then went of on some hard quest (the razor claw thingy) and there ended up with about 6 of us taking turns to kill a boss far more powerful than us and loot him before him and his minions killed us, then going again until we had all got the claw. Great fun.

I think I'll get to Orgrimar and then start over as either an undead or a dward/gnome as those are the only starting areas I haven't seen, although I have seen Ironforge when I took a tram from Stormwind.

Once they cut off the beta, I'd better not buy the game till I have more time to spend on it in the vacation.

Argh, I have decided to limit how much of the open beta I play until release for fear of completely burning out on the game when it comes out and I start over. Having played a tauren hunter and a night elf rogue. I think I may go with either an undead character or another tauren when the game comes out proper though.

The Friday the game comes out just happens to be the start of half term for me, too. \o/

I assume they will have a Roleplay server or two in the European release?

Well, the american version has a few, and the Euro beta had a couple too, so there will almost certainly be some.

Huh??? I've only seen Normal and PVP servers in the Euro Beta, not a single RP one.

There will be a roleplay server there yeah. Real life talk gives you a kick if discovered by GM's! =)

Allong with a (un)healthy dose of Pve and PvP server. Just a tip though, one of the last servers on the list is going to be picked by the powerplayers, so aim for start og middle.

Why do they pick the last server on the list??

How does PvP work on the RPG servers? I am mainly a PvE player but would like a bit of PvP now and then.. just not the (presumed) amount on an all out PvP server. I prefer not to be ganked by some l337-doods while hunting/idling around just minding my own business... :)

Rather than try to explain it myself, I'll point you in the direction of the horse's mouth.

In a nutshell, there can still be PvP battles on a PvE server under specific circumstances.

According to the official website, Final Beta ends tomorrow, Monday Feb 7th, at 21:00. And, to quote:

To celebrate the end of the beta test, we will arrange a gigantic Day of Judgement event on all realms a few hours before they are all taken down.

If that's anything like the end of the US Beta, I recommend all Beta players to be present tomorrow for this event... be prepared for lots of death and mayhem and scary NPCs :)

Having run through a bunch of characters since last Saturday, I'm glad that there's an enforced break before release. I was in danger of ODing from doing the level 1-12 grind half a dozen times in a rush to pick a preferred class.

I'd better play through the starting area for the Undead as I've now done all the other starting areas (although not all the races).

If I do get this game, it won't be for at least a month once I'm on vacation from university. If I joined a server with lots of EG peeps on, would the starting areas be really empty, and would you all be far too high above me for us to join up?

It all depends, mate. In a month, someone who plays every day and a lot on weekends is going to be so far ahead of you that you'll never really catch up unless they pretty much stop playing at some point.

However, most people will plough a lot of effort into one character at the start for a few weeks to months, and then at some point they'll probably start a second character to try something new if not before. Plenty of people keep multiples in other MMORPGs for playing with different groups. It does help to keep tabs on progress if you really want to play with someone in particular though. There has to be some sort of mutual agreement about how fast the teamed characters are going to progress. All in all, starting a bit late isn't too much of a problem as long as you're willing to synch up with someone.

The one possible advantage in starting at release is that you might be less affected by the high-level character's raiding areas where you're trying to do a few quests. I just popped on and tried to finish up a simple errand quest in Crossroads and the place was carnage with a couple of dozen level 35-55 characters on both sides tearing the place up. All the PVP NPCs get killed as soon as they respawn, and so my little Lvl 12 Hunter just has to sit and watch the show.

But surely watching the raid is far more fun than return item (x) to generic NPC (y)?

I really want to see a Raid, but alas nothing so far.

It depends on whether you're trying to make progress or not. For most people, after the first couple of runs through, levelling up to 15-20 is something they want to get over fast. During beta, the raiding has only held me up once or twice (I'm playing Horde, and Horde towns get raided far more), but I suspect that in retail it will become more of an issue after the first month or so.

Pirotic - make an alt on EN PvP 6 and go to the xroads - everynight when I was playing there, we had raids.

The Crossroads has been under continual assault for most of today on the PvE EN Server 3. Lagged to hell.

I dont like the sound of the NPCs being repeatedly slaughtered. Don't want to be stuck not being able to do things cause of that.

I've made my way to the capital city for each starting area now. I'm not quite sure which starting area I liked best. Durotar was the most fun as I grouped up with some great people and killed lots of stuff. The Tauren one was the worst as it was so big, open and completely devoid of other players. All the starting areas have nice compact dungeons, and the Tauren get an enormous valley thingy you can get lost in, and is very annoying when you are the only soul about and have to kill pretty much everything.

Most impressive city was Ironforge. The undercity was quite a sight as well, in fact, they were all fantastic, although all of them apart from Thunderbluff seemed stretched out when very few other players were around.

I love taking a flight from Stormwind to Ironforge (or vice versa), at times it runs smoothly and I can see all the monsters below me, including big dragons in the burning steppes, but at times its like a slide show, with one frame every five seconds, like when I entered Ironforge. Shame, as that would have been a fantastic sight, swooping into the great forge.

I love this game, so much so that I don't know if I could get away with buying it. Definately not whilst I should be studying at uni at least.

They are spawning Level 62 elite dreadlords etc at the major towns atm. Kinda pointless tbh since nobody can even remotely damage them on the phase 2 servers.
