    I use those sims too. Just get one of these, i got one for micro-sims and they work a treat

    Ace, ordered one. Saw some on Amazon, pricier and wayward reviews, so if you say it works, great.

    Now, to downgrade my Three One deal down to £15/month with no tethering.

    Oh the joy of monthly rolling contracts :)

    Oh the pain of talking to Three over the phone :(. I cancelled a iPad data deal with them a couple of years ago, I was on the phone to India for over an hour, pfft.

    the value of the ipad 2 we have is already down. I have two weeks left to trade it in for £210 odd, otherwise if i wait till next year it will barely be worth £100.

    not to mention nobody is using the ipad 2 at the moment...
    And if you trade it now then get the mini to trade next year you'll make a loss on two devices.

    If no one is using the 2 then why would you start using the mini?

    Surely it would be more cost effective to just go into a phone shop and ask to cut the sim card for you.

    Do they even cut them given it takes a bite from the the actual metal down the sides? Besides, I'll be using it every few months so not fussed.

    @yegon

    Er i haven't actually used that one yet! I used one to cut to micro sim... i don't have a device that needs nano sims!

    @Aargh.

    I have my reasons... plus sometimes you just want something shiny to play with.

    Well, I'm sure it'll work. I've got a couple of old full size sims that are expired, I'll practise on them.

    You can cut a nano SIM out of a micro SIM, but yeah, you do have to cut through the metal a bit. At least for the iPhone 5 you don't need to make it any thinner, I've heard - there's enough tolerance built in that it'll take a thick nano SIM just fine. Guess the Mini's likely to be similar.

    Try tomorrow at 8am ans use the Apple store app on IOS (If you can. Seems to be quicker than the website when busy)- had no problems ordering an iPhone 5's that way .

    In the Promo video at 1:11 they have someones thumb planted bang in the middle of the screen and yet he is able to swipe.

    Mockup or new magic feature that nullifies the need for fat bezels?

    From what I've read they have some form of SW magic that detects unintended touch gestures.

    It is on the phone so I'd be very surprised if it wasn't on this.

    I can't wait to get some CAVE shooters running on the Mini - it's the perfect form factor for them (and Jeff Minter games!).

    I hope someone is working on an iCade device for the Mini. I never got around to getting one for my iPad (which I'm selling off now), but it would be a perfect fit.

    Received that nano sim cutter from Expansys, works a charm. Did a test run on an old sim, bunged that into my iPhone 5, fit fine. It was a dead sim though, so am just assuming it'd work.

    Black 16gb 3G. I normally go max capacity, but I baulk even at paying £369 given it'll be down the road the moment a retina version is released. £529 for a 3G 64gb is utter lunacy when you consider you're only about a tonne off a 3G 64gb 4th gen!!! Yeah yeah, I know £369 is only £130 less than a 4th gen 16gb 3G, but still. I'm paying for the convenience and portability, that's worth a lot in my book.

    Going 3G this time since it'll leave the house a LOT.

    How much useable space do you get with a 16gb typically? 13 or 14? Be like going back in time shrinking 1gb mkv's down to 16gb friendly sizes, but hey, I'll set a massive batch going one time and that'll be the end of it.

    I think I might decide to be a mug and buy an iPod mini. I hope all the games autoscale to it.

    Think its 8am but no confirmation.

    I think i will also go for the 16GB 3G. Toyed with skipping the 3G, but i would regret it, tethering is a pain in the backside, and if i'm on the train etc i dont want to have to be getting my phone out every five mins. Plus the whole point of it is work email which i cant get without interweb!

    Probably arrive by december in time for my birthday
