Didnít this go gold weeks ago? How can a game be delayed after going gold? Because the day one patch didnít also go gold?

The physical games have arrived in distribution warehouses now, so no further delay.

Because they decided the PS4 and Xbox one versions still weren't good enough to release and wanted another month for optimisation.

Got a sale out of me, was going to wait but that trailer and 37.99 from CDkeys was hard to pass up.

Iíve never found the GTA series interesting at all, mainly because I donít get off on crime
stuff but also because I prefer fantasy or sci-fi settings. I dabbled in IV and V but thought it might grab me if they released an alien invasion DLC, but otherwise Iím just not interested.

Cyberpunk is looking like that sci-fi GTA, but with what I expect to be well-crafted narrative choices like Witcher 3. If the thing plays well it may be the game of my dreams.

My main concern with it is that I might be overwhelmed by it all. Iím finding it harder to get to grips with even just complex visuals in games as I get older, let alone systems. Iíve been playing Civ 6 on PS4 and the visual complexity does my head in.

2 discs, so this is going to be a Red Dead 2 type of affair then

@JamboWayOh Looking that way. 70GB space required on base PS4 apparently.

There's a 20 min leak of ps4 gameplay in the wild apparently it's from the very start and the person playing barely does anything of value BUT it's the base ps4 version without the day one patch and doesn't seem to run terribly.

Snapped and preordered this on stadia for the free premiere edition. Stadia has been great on everything for me so why not pick up a second controller with this.

The few minutes I saw leaked on YouTube looked great - Pre-launch anxiety is alleviated somewhat.

If it's out and in retailers stock, why do we have to wait almost 3 weeks for it? Massive day one patch?

And pour a 40 on the kerb for our fallen homie, Deus Ex which could have been in the same ballpark as this had squenix not had their heads up their arses. You died so shitty avengers could live.

Itís probably not with retailers globally. This game is going to sell everywhere in big numbers. Thatís a lot of a logistics. Plus a day one patch yes!

I pulled the trigger yesterday. I was planning to wait for a full fat series x update but I think thatís going to a be a while and the game is looking pretty amazing anyway so Iím in.

Finally a proper trailer, and yeah that looks miles better than what they showed of x last week. Looks up to snuff if itís really what PS4 looks like.

I'm wondering if it'd be worth buying a PS4 copy now, even if I don't intend on playing it until the full-fat PS5 version is released.

It's a free upgrade from the PS4 version, but they might charge £69.99 RRP for the PS5 version.

Does anyone know of a store that delivers games via DPD? I can see this being another case of Royal Mail and other getting overwhelmed leading to delays so I'd be willing to pay slightly more for a decent courier.

If you've got a physical edition PS5 I'd just wait it out. I reckon this is one of those games that will be clogging up CEX and game preowned shelves and you'll be able to pick it up new for £20 by the time the patch rolls around.

Guarantee loads of people will be rolled up in the hype and advertising and buy the game expecting it to be a futuristic GTA or something, and bounce off it when the RPG side comes into play.

Really? Witcher 3 has sold bucket loads as an rpg. Why would people think it's going to be something completely different?

@dfunked09 That's true. Once the hype has died down it's bound to plummet in price.

I suppose the only caveat is if CDPR decide you have to register your PS4 copy by a certain date to quality for the PS5 upgrade. If they release a specific PS5 version (rather than just a patch) they wouldn't want that directly competing with bargain bin PS4 copies. Although I'd personally pay a bit more to to have the PS5 code on disc, a lot of people wouldn't care.

    @JamboWayOh
I reckon so. Advertising has been very much focussed on the pew pew action side of it recently, so I can see it appealing to the kind of people who only play COD and GTA and them just not getting on with something a bit deeper.

Could be very wrong, but we'll see on December 11th!

I'm not convinced it'll be worth waiting for the PS5/XSX specific versions. My guess is that they'll add a 30fps RT mode and some back end tweaks that enable faster loading and some minor haptic stuff.

They've said the next-gen upgrades won't arrive till late 2021 and by that point it can be launched alongside the first substantial bit of paid DLC for next Christmas. If there is a PS5 boxed release I expect it'll be an Ultimate edition of sorts with the DLC included for a reasonable price to try and discourage people buying second-hand PS4 copies and DLC separately.

Unless it becomes evident that the next-gen versions are seriously hobbled by last-gen, I'd rather enjoy it now. At launch, I'll be happy if PS5 has the same graphics settings as PS4 Pro, but with 60fps and a higher resolution (i.e less constrained dynamic resolution).

Should there be major improvements later, I'll still enjoy those as an extra incentive to play the DLC which could be 20hrs+ anyway.

If it's like the Witcher 3, the DLC will be even better than the main game. Blood and Wine on the Pro looked and played better than the core game on base PS4 but that didn't diminish how much I'd enjoyed that experience at the time.

    ^This 100%

Other than some fancy graphical tweaks I don't see the point in waiting. But really what do I know, I got the PC version.

Well, this is a new IP, at least for video games. Witcher 3 - what's in the name - had two predecessors that made it clear what kind of game it would be.
Yes, this is based on a pen and paper RPG but probably only a small portion of the player base is aware of that.

Also, the Cyberpunk videos show (other than cutscenes) an awful lot of vehicle sections and gunplay. It wouldn't come as a complete surprise if a large portion of the player base is indeed expecting it to be more of a futuristic GTA than anything else.
I don't recall seeing a single skill tree, stat screen or inventory in any of the videos I've watched (if they exist I've missed them completely) and only a single bit of dialogue with conversation options.

I doubt this will make the player base bounce of the game though.
