| CDPR put a lot of effort into polishing (fnar) the Witcher games. I would be very surprised if they didn't do as much for this game, regardless of the public shit storm it has caused. |

Not sure about this. I played it through on PC and saw a number of the non-showstopper bugs... and it was a fucking amazing game. NMS's problem at launch was that it lacked a lot of the features that had been promised/hinted at and was boring. Cyberpunk's problem is that it is buggy and performs badly on most console hardware.
Yeah, it’s No Man’s Sky territory. Hopefully they can do as well at redeeming things.
I don't think it's ever going to be a GTA. I'm not sure fixing the police stuff should even be a priority. In GTA, getting a wanted rating is something you need to do from time to time in the course of normal game progreession. Quite a lot of story missions demand it. In Cyberpunk, there's not one main mission or side mission that requires it. A wanted rating is a punishment for failure. The only times I got one were after a pedestrian was rude enough to be on the pavement when I wanted to skip some traffic lights, or when I caused some accidental collateral damage while fighting bad guys.
Marketing the game as a GTA-like was a mistake, for sure, but there's an amazing game in there if you play it on the right platform, can ignore some mostly-cosmetic bugs (plus the odd sidequest needing a restart) and aren't wanting it to be GTA.
I admit that's a lot of ifs. -

Registered 5 years agoTons of stuff was promised/hinted at for Cyberpunk that didn't make it into the finished game. That's in fact my chief complaint about it, that regardless of the quality of the final product, it's worlds away from what it was originally supposed to be even beyond "this isn't GTA", especially for someone who was a fan of the original TTRPG.

Registered 7 years agoIt's not so much the GTA style shenanigans with the police stuff, but rather the fact that it is so immersion-breaking. I've really enjoyed the game, mainly because I have found it so immersive when it is all good, so the design choices that pull me out of the immersion are more jarring as a result. Still very much enjoy the game, though (playing on PC) -

Registered 4 years agoSomehow while trying to fix the last gen versions they have fucked the series X version. There is definitely now way more pop in and less vehicles on the roads!! Wtf the performance was perfect 30 or 60 before 1.2 so all they've done is make it look worse with no benefit. -

Registered 10 years agoAs has been mentioned before, it’s diminishing returns at this point, I doubted they could improve much without paring back. This as I feared looks to be effecting the bc as well.
They’ll really have to draw a line under the sand at some point soon. Tinkering yes, but without a full rewrite I can’t see what else they can do, they’ve already stripped back the streaming etc and the ghost town feeling sounds to be getting even worse.
Let’s hope they’ve got their act together for the current gen version but I don’t really know how they’ll be going about that. -

Just wait for revan's feedback once she's played through all of it again with this patch. She should get back to us by tomorrow around noon at latest. -

Finished the PC version last night.
Overall I enjoyed it. Yes, there's some jankiness but I didn't take notice any major bugs, none of the T-pose stuff or whatever, I think I played it after it had been mostly fixed.
Mechanically it's a bit stodgy. The combat never felt amazing, maybe it's how I play but most fights just felt a bit bullet spongy. The driving was functional, though the minimap is terrible for diving - that' map is actually my biggest bugbear. And the RPG side of things, the talent points and attributes and what not never really feel compelling.
However, the general atmosphere and tone was very engaging. I know it's pretty much smoke and mirrors and possibly quite empty, but Night City was an amazing area to be in, even after 40 odd hours I still found myself just taking a frequent pause to admire the vista.
And I thought the writing and characters were very interesting good, I cared about the characters and felt invested in their stories.
As I knew it wasn't a GTA open world kinda thing I had no disappointment there. The whole police thing never bothered me simply because I think I only got wanted like, 2 or 3 times by accident.
As a narrative lead game it worked very well though, and I'm tempted to do another play through as I didn't actually realise Goro could be saved, filthy corpo that he is.
So yeah, it's a flawed game but one that kept me playing, which is more than a lot of games manage these days. -

Registered 17 years agoIt's absolutely insane that 6 months after it came out this still isn't available on PSN. What happened to the CDPR patch roadmap?! Sure they promised two huge updates one in January and one in March. It's now nearly June. What a total cluster fuck. -

Registered 4 months agoStill think it was my game of the year 2020.
Ever since finishing it I’ve not gone back intentionally, waiting for the PS5 version. Where the fuck is the news on that and yeah, it’s mad that there’s nothing on PSN for the PS4 still 😂
Brilliant game though. Crashes didn’t bother me too much. -
The only real issue is that my phone bugged out. During one of the delemaine quests, delemaines image is corrupted intentionally, and his splits into three and the image slides.
Well that effect never went away, so every phone call afterwards saw whoever I was talking to have the same effect.
I did those quests late in the day, so it didn't bother me, and given V's progressively worse condition I could kinda write it off as a result of the artifact.
The game gets a solid 8/10 for me despite the flaws. I can see how it could have been so much more, and agree that it was perhaps sold as something it wasn't, but I can't complain about what we did get too much. -

Registered 14 years agoIt remains my game of the last generation (though I played it on Series X which might discount it, since it's apparently trash on previous gen consoles). -

I had a hilarious phone bug where the character I was talking to would sometimes spawn in next to me for the phone call then disappear.

(I give it a 7/10. Ubisoft-like openworld full of copy paste content uncomfortably sharing an executable with some decent RPG quests, neither talking to each other and frequently getting in each others' way.) -

Registered 16 years agoIt was a 9.5/10 for me, on PC. Thought it was bloody brilliant, though the bugs I saw (some T-posing and a few times I had to go back a few mins to a previous save after a sidequest glitched) knock it down half a point from a 10. -

Registered 5 years agoA bugless version would probably end up a 7/10 for me, and most of that is just for the design. Crushingly overpromised and underdelivered with a facade of what was anticipated layered over bland or empty systems. Nothing that wrong with smoke and mirrors in games as plenty do it, but make sure you can’t see the obvious joins. -

Registered 10 years agoSo yeah, be nice to hear some kind of update. Maybe even one of those video diaries focused on “current gen” plans? Just to keep us feeling involved.
Or are they just keeping us waiting till they flip the res switch in september and shove it out the door quietly. -

I’m reasonably confident they’ve just abandoned it. Get it into a state that Sony will certify it back onto the store and call it good, nearly six months after delisting. Multiplayer canned already, next gen versions looking like vaporware, I wouldn’t be surprised to see DLC dumped off as well. Class action lawsuit goes to ground in June too.

Yeah, they've made their money. They have no reason or obligation (beyond the obvious moral one) to do anything else with it as its fucked and there's only criticism down that road for them.
Nothing to see here folks. Move along.
