Registered 7 years agoI struggled to get into a game. All the servers were locked, full or empty...
Although when I did find a game I can't say I'm impressed. The only moment I found funny was wondering what was rolling along the floor, only to realise it was some poor bugger's head -

Might give me a reason to fire this back up again, considering I've now bought it but only played once! -

Registered 8 years agoReally recommend it. Me and a few mates play it usually once a week at the least. Its great fun, and with those updates they have added all sorts of cool stuff.

Is there an eg server about, or at least, a server that eg players use? -

Registered 11 years agoI'm quite tempted to get this and/or war of the roses. Is there any reason to go for one over the other? -

Registered 8 years agoDon't know about war of the roses, but chivalry is fun.
Can't see it lasting forever, depth wise, but with the new content they have just given it, might give it fresher leases of life
Let me know if there's a eg server ! -

Registered 15 years agoHave to say that what a surprise this game was.
I have been stalking this game and when we had a lan party I decided to buy this. Installed and started playing. Giggling with dropping heads and limbs. Other guys gathered around and everyone went mental - "We have to get this."
Superb lan game! What a tension when you are meleeing one to one with someone. It always end on disaster - someone else comes from behind and removes your head or you end up slashing your friend. But super fun even when I really suck in patient tactical thinking. Few times had a five kill streak and then you really start feeling man-ish. -

Registered 10 years agoFree weekend for this on now. Great bloody fun, I love the sense of weight to the characters and the Dark Souls-esque tactical positioning swordfights. -

I imagine it to be a stellar LAN game, for both shared-room hilarity, and because there shouldn't be any latency problems. Pings as low as 40 can be noticeably laggy in this game.

Registered 6 years agoI love this game so much, I really enjoy duel servers - always good to have to fair fights, but the madness of the other modes are excellent fun too. -

Registered 6 years agoI love this game so very, very much. I've always been shit at FPS games, but I think I've finally found my niche here. It is enormous fun, even when I lose.

Registered 15 years agoBought this on the Steam sale - only played something called "Duel" yet, but so far my K/D is something like 5/23. I feel like one of the German forest-dudes in Gladiator. -
I still play the shit out of this game. Amazing. -

That's pretty normal, like most online "shooters" it has a steep lurning curve. When I want a bit less of a challenge, I do deathmatch. Much easier to get a few honourable mace-in-the-back kills. And I love the mayhem anyway.
Edit: "lurning curve"? Really?

Registered 6 years agoI wouldn't try duels until you get a good feel for the classes and which weapons you like. The people on duel servers tend to be rather good. -

Any hints and pointers for a complete spacker whose tactics so far are mostly limited to panicking and getting his legs cut off?
I've had the most luck with the man-at-arms class, so I reckon that's my best bet for the time being. -

Registered 9 years agoMy only recommendation is to start deathmatching. As Mola_Ram said, Duel is mostly for experienced players, and all the missions stuff is hard too. Deathmatch is great for learning the basics and unlocking some of the better weapons.
Man-at-arms is my favourite class and my favourite weapon for him is the morning star. Morning star and shield. Can be pretty deadly with a bit of practice. -

Registered 15 years agoCool - I'll give deathmatch a go.
I had a great moment yesterday where I spawned as an archer (which, apparently, is frowned upon in Duel) - I had pulled back the bowstring and was just about to let the arrow fly, when, out of nowhere, my opponent produces a throwing spear which he then goes on to lob through my chest.
Very Troy-ish. -

Registered 11 years agoMy favourite tactic is standing on top of a hard to reach roof and mashing the help key -
Yay! Just played a game of Free For All - and came in third out of eight! Sure, I did my share of fragstealing, and number two and three had about three times as many kills as me, but still!
I have to say, cutting people's arms off and bashing their heads in is a lot more fun than shooting them with a SMG... I wonder how bows work?
