Yep, annoying as fuck. YouTube videos get a few minutes in before the app locks up "YouTube has stopped responding do you want to wait / close?". On a stock N4. Also does it whilst streaming Web videos using MX Player.
Is anyone else having problems with video playback on their Nexus 4? I'm just using the stock Android (4.2.2) and Youtube regularly won't start playback of videos, and often crashes.
Other videos (e.g. on sites that I visit alone in bed at night) also have problems with the video refusing to play.
Everything worked fine until recently. -

Not just me then, that's something at least.

Get that YouTube thing on AOKP milestone 1 too. But it just sorta stops and starts again, stops and starts again etc...
Only on YouTube, never on Pornhub or xvideos. -

I can't say I've had an issue with YouTube, seems to work well.
On the subject of volume sliders there should be a volume app that allows control of it all in one go. Hang on let me see if I can find it again.
Edit
Try this slider widget, seems to work, its very visual and better than the original one I found

Registered 18 years agoFucking hell. NFC is fantastic!
I had a friend visiting me last weekend. We were taking separate cars into town and I wanted to show him where to go in case we got separated at a red light somewhere.
So I put a pin on google maps and held my phone up to his LUMIA 920 and they hooked up in no time at all. Really, no time at all. My Nexus just vibrated and zoomed out like they do when you have sync and the I just taped the map over and he got it straight away.
So bloody brilliantly hassle free and intuitive.
Such a petty Apple refuse to get into this. -
I'm about to lose it and hurl something out of the windows.
Bought an OTG cable with the intention of using the pad for some games or something instead of my hands getting in the way. All the videos and links I see entail of literally just plugging the OTG cable in, then plugging the PS3 or Xbox 360 pad in and away you go.
It's not working.
I plug the pads in and get nothing. No lights. No activity at all.
Not on root at the moment but everything says I don't need it, only need root to go wireless with the PS3 pad which I don't want to do anyway, because apparently that means pairing it with my phone instead of my PS3 and I don't want to do that.
Google isn't helping, it's just saying the same thing, or saying about wireless.
Anyone here managed to get it working at all.
PS3 pad is official, X360 is wired mad catz.
Running 4.3 is that makes any difference. -

Apologies if I'm obnoxiously obvious, but could your OTG cable itself not be at fault ? Plugging one in my Nexus 7 worked flawlessly, and on the spot.

Does the Nexus 4 take SD cards or are you limited to onboard memory? -

Registered 15 years agoSeem the price cut but as Tom says, no SD cards and the camera isn't the best quality? Just thinking of an alternative to a Samsung galaxy s4. -

Registered 18 years agoThe camera is ok. Not amazing but then I doubt any mobile camera other than the 1020 is. Low light is crappy but that's to be expected with a sensor small enough for a mobile phone. -

Registered 16 years agoMy current contract comes to an end soon on a Blackberry with Virgin Mobile. Hoping to go with a pay monthly sim with either Tesco or Virgin for around £10-£15 a month.
This leaves me looking for a sim free phone and anything is going to better than my current Blackberry but how does the Nexus 4 compare with a Samsung Galaxy S3?

What are the chances of a new Nexus 4 being just around the corner? -
Somewhere between fat and plenty.
