Alright so apparently there is a film Called The Traveller apparently something of a video nasty made sometime during the 80's but I've struck out on IMDb. The little information I have on it is quote "he was a mummy dug up and they found gems which they took. then he kill them as he reclaimed them". Could it be known by a different name? Something of a long shot but what the hell. Oh btw initially I thought it might be Enemy Mine BUT THAT TURNED OUT NOT TO BE THE CASE. k ta |
Name that film

I typed 'The Traveller film 80's' into Google and found this thread. Clever. -

Registered 9 years agoIt was one of those early b-movie video nasties from the 80's. Doubt anyone will be able to get it now, as most were destroyed. -
Well Cannibal Holocaust is still available and it doesn't get any nastier than that. I'm sure IMDb would list it if it was a real thing.

Registered 18 years agoFilm - probably 80's although anywhere between about '75 and '95 is possible.
I thought it starred Richard Dreyfuss, but I've just checked his wiki, and it doesn't seem to be him.
Guy who works in the advertising industry has an accident, or a breakdown or something, and ends up in a care home with the usual Hollywood-ised 'loveable but harmless nutters and eccentrics'.
They start coming up with plain speaking advertising slogans, like 'Volvo - They're a bit dull, but they're very safe.'
I think he gets his job back, or goes on to start his own ad agency or something - I don't remember.
Any ideas?
There's an obvious answer, but I've checked, and it turns out it's not 'Enemy Mine'.
I was amazed, too! -

Registered 12 years agoOh I need this thread…
I have no idea when this film was made but it was (I think) black and white. It’s probably pre-80s by a good margin. It’s super fuzzy in my memory and it may have merged with several other films.
Anyway it’s WWI with a young German (almost certain he was German) chap in the trenches, who dreams of being a pilot. I believe there is a bit of a fast forward and he becomes a test pilot/super ace, and everyone else in the test pilot school thing are assholes for some reason but he just wants to fly his damn plane. Anyway, I remember him flying under a bridge. Or into it. Or something.
I’ve been trying to remember the name of this damn film for a decade. I remember seeing it once as a kid and it’s just stuck with me. Or my mind made it up. -
What about Bob?
