The same cast and director are back with the addition of Shailene Woodley as MJ. But it looks as though Jamie Foxx is going to play Electro A much better baddie than The Lizard. |

Registered 15 years agoI hope they call it The Spectacular Spider-man. Also, who the hell is that playing MJ? She looks about 12.
Also, Foxx as Elektro is fine, I suppose. Bit of a strange choice ad I can't really imagine him doing it but maybe it'll be a bit of a different take. -

Registered 11 years agoWhat the Foxx had to say about Electros outfit
"It won't be green and yellow. It will be a different color," Foxx recently told blackfilm.com. "[The producers] want something for the future. They want to have it more grounded and not as comic bookie, so it won’t be green and yellow. They want to try new things, like a liquid rubber and things like that, and there are all these bolts and stuff in my arms when they are hanging me upside down and trying to figure out what happen. How did he become this way? So, it will be some new stuff.
"In the script, this villain is the first time it's be written really, really well," he continued. "[Star] Andrew Garfield and [director] Marc Webb both commented on how great the script is, so it should be an exciting time." -

Registered 13 years agoElectro is cool, would still love to see the Vulture or Kraven though.
But MJ? Again? We already had three films of her. I hope they don't go down the whole -Pete-Gwen-MJ love triangle route that 3 managed to bungle so spectacularly.

Chris Cooper is Norman Osborn:

Quite chuffed about this, seems a really good choice for the role. -

That love triangle is part of the Spidey canon so it's likely to be included.

The early photos of MJ don't look that great so I'm a bit dubious of their choice for the actress :S -

Allegedly the actress playing Mary-Jane and giant-head Andrew Garfield have been getting a little too close. Which is insane, when you remember that Garfield is dating Emma Stone. That's like having a massive steak dinner sat in front of you and ignoring it in order to microwave a Rustler's burger. -

That's insane if true. There's not many people in the world i wouldn't bludgeon to death with their own shoes to be with Emma Stone.

Registered 17 years agoPaul Giamatti as Rhino? Yeah, that aint bad either. Hopefully won't end up like Spiderman 3.
However, seen plenty of the cartoons where Spidy is having a smackdown with multiple baddies and it's always been done well.

That smells a little of movie bullshit hype to me. What a great story that there's a genuine real life love triangle, as well as one in the film.

I dunno, I think Hollywood learned its lesson about such things after the clusterfuck that was Robert Pattison and whatsherfacecan'tact's "split". Plus it's a bit early to start building hype for a movie well over a year away.

I noticed Paul Giamatti is playing Rhino when looking on imdb today. Has that been announced?
