Final trailer before release. I'm not familiar with this lightning villain. |

Registered 15 years agoDen of Geek review is good. Definitely sounds like an improvement from the first, and I'd rather they threw stuff at the wall to see what sticks than the rather bland story from the first one.
It does sound like it has too much going on though. Crazy to think that Marie Jane was meant to be in this too and got pushed back to third film at the last minute. -

They did? I thought she just got pushed back to the next film. She already filmed her scenes I thought, although I suppose that wouldn't make a difference if she was replaced. Will have to have a google!

Registered 17 years agoSaw this this afternoon. Unfortunately, it's not amazing.
It is better than the first and there were some things that I liked quite a lot but ultimately it's just not that great. I don't really get why the Spider-Man films don't hold up as well as the other superhero movies, and I'd be really interested in what Marvel could with it themselves if Sony lost the rights (which I know won't happen).
Raimi's films feel horribly outdated already and I can't see past his very pronounced film making style when I watch them now. Webb's I prefer, on paper; the casting, characters, arcs, etc, but they still fall so flat and are overly long. -

Registered 15 years agoArgh that's a shame. I'm seeing it on sat I think. What was it you didn't like? Consensus seems to be too much plot crammed in. -

Registered 17 years agoThere is too much plot, yes, but it's just generally not brilliantly paced. It's very much a sequel in a film-making sense, Webb doesn't seem to have progressed any of his flaws, though it is tighter.
It's ok, certainly watchable, but like the first I don't feel like there're any details I missed out on and I don't feel any need to see it again any time soon. The set-up for the next film and spin-off is huge and it feels a bit like they focused too much on driving that than fleshing out Electro, who really isn't great and, again, works back into the set-up too heavily.
There is something I was quite impressed with but it's a spoiler so I don't want to talk about until a few more people have seen it

Registered 17 years agoI understand there's lots of franchise building. Plenty of spin-offs coming apparently.

Registered 10 years agoApparently you get a clip from the new X-Men film after the credits? -

Registered 17 years agoYeah. It's a 2 minute clip from the middle of the film. Nothing amazing but shows a couple of new mutants they've added to the list. -

Registered 20 years agoJust back too. Wasn't impressed with the trailer but the kids wanted to see it so went along too. With lowered expectations I didn't feel too short-changed but it wasn't as enjoyable or satisfying as CapAmerica2.
Electro just caused more frustration than apathy - I know all these films need a certain amount of incredulity to be allowed but seeing his capabilities ignored during some of the action sequences felt cheap.
Having said that - it does have its ballsy moments.
Looking forward to X-Men & Godzilla in hope they are much better than this.
6/10 from me. -

Registered 11 years agoWait, why is there a clip for the new X-Men film after this? Isn't Spiderman Sony and X-Men Fox?
I think I liked the first Amazing Spiderman more than most people on here so from your thoughts on this page I think I'll really enjoy this. Hopefully I'll get to see it soon! -

Registered 8 years ago@MatMan562 Marc Webb was under contract to Fox and they wouldn't lete go to film ASM2 unless they agree to advertise DoFP in the credits without telling the audience it has NOTHING to di with Spidey ( I'm back from watching it and got excited until I learned the truth)
I also can't edit on this phone. Damn.

Ahh, fair enough, thanks! Not hinting at a Spiderman/ X-Men crossover then.
