Regulards: Ever been flamed here?

Just been reading some theads over at Defcon (scary place maaaan), and witnessed flaming after flaming after flaming.

Anyway, wondered if any of the others here had ever recieved a flaming, here, from the other regulars when they were new.

I did. I actually got a few, but the one that sticks in my mind the most was when I posted something in a GC thread along the lines of "Nintendo are finished. GC won't sell and Nintendo will never make another console". I was then ritually crucified by Razz and Vermin, for which I am eternally grateful :)

    Got any good yarns?

I had an embarassing pic of myself slapped on Gametards, which was my introduction - before I'd even started. I feel that is potentially worse than a flaming. Other than that, I've been politely ignored.

yeah once when i said something silly along the lines of "ps2 has more graphics processing than gc, and many cross platform games look better on it" and then backed it with what i'd been told by the guy's who programmed our gc and ps2 renderers (one of whom now works in the US on sonys technology programming team). as you can probably tell i'm still a little sore about the whole ordeal!

oh yeah i was accused of being a fanboy... me a fanboy. hmpf!!!

Never flamed, but told off for things that were due to my own stupidity.

    Business as usual, then.

Actually Errol flamed me once. Can't remember why now.

And somebody else flamed me very early on in my career for saying that NFSU was going to be shit.

    Ahhh. Those were the days.

Not that im aware of but then I have a terrible habit of posting something in a thread and forgetting to go back to it so probably..

/thats new years resolution #16 broken, cut back on posting on eurogamer.

I've managed to keep myself to myself so far, and thus avoided any sort of 'trouble'.

To be honest though, anyone with half a brain can easily avoid getting flamed - usually 'flaming' is deserved, though the whole idea of flaming is bollocks to me. It's an internet based text forum not the real world. Who gives a shit if someone you don't know and will most likely never meet, likes Xbox more than Nintendo. So what.

I think I've been gently flamed, but that's because certain people seemed to have latched on to me and made it seem as if I was being all tardy with them, when in fact I was just lightly bantering with them. Honest.

I remember being accused rather strongly of being a ps2 fanboy by some dude called Kami.

Despite me having already said I loved Nintendo.

And that I had way more games on the cube I preferred than on my PS2.

In fact, all I had done was make some shit joke about how Nintendo are fucking clueless at marketing.

Long and short of it: I was right, he wasn't.

I don't recall ever being flamed. Even after heated discussions with various people including FB.

As banning seems to be poster name specific maybe we can get FB back under a new name? ;)

Check out the Defcon forums if you want to see some flames.

    (A typical conversation):

A: Hey, anyone know where I can get a GTA crack?

    B: SFTU nub!

    C: Yeah. STFU nub!!

B: Hey C. STFU!!1! You havn't earnt the right to say STFU yet. You only have 12000 posts

C: Sorry B. I really am. I hope to be as l33t as you one day.

D: Hey B. STFU you post whore!! I've been here 5 years and only have 10 posts, and they're all telling you to STFU!!11!

    B: Hey D, STFU...

That's because you're into the Sega Saturn though, go on, admit it!

Not so much flamed, but I did post a picture of a dead/run over cat in Retroids thread about his cute cats.

I was then ignored by Retroid, which I completely understand, and probably still am ignored!

There was a line... And I crossed it, ran back, crossed it again, ran back, did a commando roll over it... Think you get the point.

    You have what?

    /ignores

Can't remember I have ever been flamed, not even by FB or BGiE, but then I usually keep out of these overlong discussions.

Harry got upset with me once because I posted a light hearted joke-comment about football violence (it was a thread about Millwall, after all).

    I think I called him a humourless twat :-)

Not creepy at all, I'm afraid. In fact, quite easily explainable.

    It's because you're me.

Or I'm you; I'm not really familiar with the technicalities.
