Oooh. Think I missed that site. Linky?

Um. Stare hard and long at the forum, mate, and I am sure you'll be able to help yourself. :-)

Not so much flamed, but I did post a picture of a dead/run over cat in Retroids thread about his cute cats.

I was then ignored by Retroid, which I completely understand, and probably still am ignored!
You've been un-ignored for a while now, it does take rather a lot for me to ignore someone for more than a week or so.

That pissed me off for two reasons:

    1) Smacked of a spoiling tactic. "Here's a bunch of people having fun talking about something, let's go in and piss them off"

    2) Disrespectful of fellow posters. Not only did you want to throw a spanner in the works but you didn't apologise or remove the picture when it was obvious several of us didn't like it

I'd like to think you learned from that, and as you've since apologised it's not a factor.

    Anyway.

Honestly can't remember if I've ever been flamed on EG, don't think I have and don't think I've flamed anyone either. That's why I like it here. There's more conscience in operation.

I can't remember ever being flamed here, but I guess that only means that my post aren't interesting enough to flame. The closest I've ever come to being flamed must've been when I got involved in an argument about sweatshops a month or so ago, but it never really evolved from a heated argument to a full fledged flame war.

Which begs the question really: Precisely where does a heated discussion become a flame war? It seems to be different for everyone. Which is probably the one major factor in ignores. It's one of the drawbacks of text only communication, you never know quite how close to 'the line' you are.

Nah, flaming isn't the style here. It's more discussion and debate. Like in otto's "The Simpsons is a kids show, right?" thread.
    Not a good choice. :|

I've been well & truly flamed loads of times. Especially by BGiE. He's a grade A tosser but I'll say this for him, he can flame. Feersum flamed me once (actually twice) before he became Feersum, I always got on OK with him when he was flaming everyone else. WOPTed semi-flamed me once. There was one yank geezer who used to get in all sorts of a state back when it was only the comments - he got really unhappy about me outing 'Wolfgang' as BGiE when he snuck away in embarrassment after the MS/Linux incident. Heh! Can't remember his name now. He only came on the site once every few weeks to have a pop at me. How proud I felt. As for me giving rather than receiving, I'm sure I've done my fair share of it. A life without flames would be kind of, well, cold.
