    Hmmm...
Errmm... Doesn't that kinda shit on the 3080 already unless you're not supposed to run at native 4k and that is purely reserved for the 3090

I'm reckoning that in the first month or two, if you see it in, you'd not be getting that much change out of a grand to be honest. There's such a huge gap in price for not that much performance between the 80 and 90.

I'll probably have a go at getting an FE at 650 tomorrow but otherwise I won't be too cut up about it. Cyberpunk's the only game in the near future I can think of that would really stretch it.

    edit: on the EVGA FTW3.

    @uiruki

Yeah, I'll chance my arm at getting a FE, but not paying a penny more than that price. Like you I can wait it out, and I'm sure Cyberpunk will be absolutely fine on a 1080ti if it comes to it.

Yeah. If I was still on a 1070 I'd be a bit more concerned but after playing through Control and especially Death Stranding on my 2080 I've got a lot of faith in DLSS helping my card pull its weight, even with super fancy visuals.

Yeah, it's a weird situation. This was apparently their flagship card up until they unveiled the 3090 on stream, which is surely more of a flagship?
Just seems odd to have this disconnect between publishers/devs and Nvidia considering they were mean to have consulted with them to agree on the 10GB VRAM.

1080ti/2080ti tick the box though and surely they'd perform worse at 4k than this (I guess we'll find out in 10 mins)

Looking at the Hardware Unboxed review right now. The performance seems to be good, certainly what I am looking for at 4K.

Assassin's Creed Odyssey also struggled but that was at meme settings. It's those bloody clouds.

@uiruki Control 35fps@4k but supposedly double that with DLSS on.

I mean, I was around 50 at the climax of the game on my 3440x1440 monitor with DLSS in medium and RTX at max, which cost me about 25fps compared to just having reflections.

Anyway, I've finished it now so there's only really Cyberpunk that I'm looking toward in terms of 'high performance' games.

Look, the owner of OCUK wants his £700k pension. How else do you suggest he gets there?

I have no idea why Overlcockers put prices on the cards. It was just asking for trouble. Some of prices are ridiculous though.

With the money I'm now not spending on a PS5 I could put that toward a 3090 but the fucker would be an uncomfy fit in the Meshify C. The 3090 is 12.4" and, according to Fractal, the Mesh C with front fans installed has 12.3" for GPU...

    edit

or is it the other way around. either way it's too tight.

@b-rk Keep an eye out for third party cards - Zotac often design small form factor cards.

Heh, hadnít noticed but indeed nice try.
Got my mind set on a 3090 now, I bet pre-orders will be less crazy for that one.

I can't decide if I should try for a founder's edition first, or just go straight for a 3rd party card. might be easier?

Alternatively, everything sells out in seconds.
