I literally just had a 3080 in my cart at box. Got all the way through to processing payment and ... Sorry there is a problem with your order. Not in stock anymore.

    Aaaaargh

Yeah pretty much the same thing happened to me on nvidia.com. I was trying on my phone and PC but wasn't getting anywhere with it being stuck at "checking out..." then I tried Edge, which got me further, however me details were not stored there and by the time I put them in a nice little message appeared saying not in stock anymore.

Pretty meagre gains over the 3080 in gaming but the 24GB of VRAM will come in handy in professional workloads. I feel buying the 3090 for gaming is an objectively stupid thing to do and files under the "me want the fastest" category but that goes hand-in-hand with the PC enthusiast segment of the market anyway.

    Me want the fastest.

(It will get some use for non-gaming stuff for which the 24GB VRAM is desirable).

Occasionally this week when Iíve checked the nvidia site the Ďbuy nowí button has appeared under the 3080s, but when you click on it a black box of nothing pops up. Donít know if itís a bug, or if they genuinely have been putting a few more up for sale and they are just instantly disappearing still.

Are people using some kind of magic finding 3080s in stock? I'm setup on notifications and through nowinstock and stock informer but never getting anything.

@captbirdseye Most places still have (big) backlogs/queues for the 3080, don't they?

There have been some tiny, short windows where new batches of FE cards have gone up on the Nvidia site, but your chances of landing on one of those are slim.

Yeah if itís those small bits of stock that Iíve been seeing, itís exactly the same as launch day (or launch nanosecond) - theyíre gone before you have a chance to order one, like the bots are still there.

@dfunked09 My old 980Ti was a Palit and it was fine. I wanted the non-OC Palit version because, quite frankly, they seem to have fucked around with the base design a bit less than some of the others.
Did you get the GamePro or Game Rock model? Because both models have OC versions that have identical coolers to their base models.

The 3070 launch is going to be a clusterfuck, isn't it? The *70s and *60s have always been the most popular cards in Nvidia's range and the 3070 is basically a 2080Ti for a fraction of the price. Orders utterly fell over for the 3080 and fell over only slightly less badly for the 3090. The 3070 is not going to be pretty.

Congrats on the order mate. What day did you make the order? I didn't order until the Saturday so I dont expect to see a 3080 for a few months yet.

@the_milkybar_kid According to my confirmation e-mail, my order went in at 14:08:27 yesterday. But the availability situation for the 3090, while still bad, has been nothing like as bad as the 3080's. Looking at the Overclockers forum yesterday, people who got their orders through in the first 30-60 minutes (with some variance depending on model and brand) seem to have had their 3090s shipped last night. Demand's always going to be lower at this end of the market, but supply doesn't seem to have been scaled down to the kind of ratios we saw with the 3080.

    Also, DPD just delivered it.

Seems like a Titan X is incoming with 48gb ram. Jensen really has made a meal out the 3000 series.

@dfunked09 We hit a big milestone yesterday (having done some scary hours over the last few weeks). If nothing goes wrong, I reckon I can slope off and install it around mid-afternoon.

@captbirdseye Isn't there a little company called AMD that sometimes knocks out the occasional card as well?

I was given an estimated build date for my new 3080-based machine of Monday 27th when I ordered it last Thursday.

It's now in pre-production, fingers crossed if I get pushed back on delivery it won't be too bad. Who am I kidding, it's going to be weeks, isn't it? :/

So in the bottom of the box that my 3090 came in, there were four small packs of Haribo Tangfastics. Is that an OverclockersUK thing? I mean, I don't mind at all, but as bonus incentives to order a £1500 graphics card go, it's certainly at the more random end of the scale.

Can I have your 2080 ti?

I've got an 2080 ti already, but an SLI motherboard.

Yeah, that's an OCUK thing apparently... Must make them feel better about gouging on prices somehow!
