    So nobody got one?! Ridiculous.

I think MSRP for the 30x series are never coming back again.

Some of those bids are more than I paid for my Aorus 2060 super in 2019.

Aye, I had one a good 20 years ago I think. Them and powercolor were the cheapo brands of note. :)

It wasn't a statement on their quality, more a statement of my unwillingness to pay 26% over RRP for a no frills offering.

My Gigabyte 3080 Aorus is now more expensive then when I got it too, I also paid what I thought was too much but glad I did now.

Put my rx480 on eBay and had offers for 200 already, wtf?

holy fuck! I managed to buy a video card. I got stock drop notification and just pressed click click click without time to think on a 3090 founders edition. I don't even know if it fits in this machine

In terms of amount of money spent, a new case isn't going to make much of a difference!

well considering the last stock drop for this card was over 1000 quid more than I just paid, I'm pretty bloody happy right now.

Unfortunately this definitely means I need to get back on the which monitor to buy train :|

either the Alienware 38 or the Predator X35 (as it's 500 quid cheaper than the Asus equivalent).

Yeah super surprised to see a drop at 10am on a Saturday!

    Glad you got something.

I read somewhere that the petition about scalping has made enough signatures to be discussed by MPs.

ok PC dudes in the know.... is my i7-6700K Skylake CPU going to be a massive bottle neck now or can I get away with just plugging this thing straight in?

@Gregolution Not at 4K. If high refresh at a lower resolution is your bag, then maybe.

Edit: Not a bottleneck at 4K.

@Gregolution Congratulations on getting an order through. Supply does seem incredibly thin, albeit with the 3090 not quite as hard to snag as the other Ampere/Big Navi cards.

@sport 99% it would have been Scan. As far as I'm aware they are the only ones to have Founders Edition cards in the UK

@sport yeah it was scan. Already shipped!

FYI - I used the stock drops discord channel to get notified. Some helpful person on here advised me to use it. Thanks whoever that was

I honestly think the best card to get now is the 3090.

I got a 3090 ZOtac about 4 months ago as the prices of a 3080 were just ridiculous and they were like unicorns.

Enjoy it, its a beast of card and can handle anything it will arguably last you through the next gen of cards as well if you want to skip them. Be warned tho it gets hot.

What the hell is going on? I just checked and see an RX 480 at 275 with 4 hours to go. I paid 230 for mine 5 years ago.

I sold my 1080ti for nearly 500 on ebay madness!!!!!

Similar, my 1070Ti just went for 400 about an hour after I posted it. I'm slightly miffed because now I'm thinking I set the BIN too low! Still, in any other market it'd be worth half that so I should be pleased!

Seems like you might as well try a cheeky buy-it-now around the 500 mark. I can see quite a few 1080s on eBay going for under 400 at the moment though. Maybe there are a few more 1080s around.

First world problems but we have 2 PCs in the house, one running a 3080 and the other running a 2080.

If I could nab a 3080 at msrp I could essentially almost do a straight swap of the 2080 for about 100-150. Madness.

Ugh now reading about 4k monitors to drive this 3090

    https://www.tomshardware.com/uk/reviews/acer-predator-x27-4k-gaming-monitor,5807.html

They seem to love this bad boy. But surely 27 is too small for 4k? I'd hate to have to scale windows and it be bit blurry, can't cope with blur.

Deciding on a monitor is the most painful experience I've been through in ages. :|

Yeah, 27" is the perfect size for 1440p IMO. If I was going for a 4K monitor I'd definitely want something bigger.
