I'd be very surprised. I suspect the strategy is managing the transition for the new chief exec, Dominic McKay, to take over. There was no credible way McKay could have kept Lennon in post and built any sort of rapport with the vast majority of supporters, which will be crucial when he's just in the door given the disaster of the last year, the (almost comically) catastrophic collapse of Celtic's bid for the 10, and the still as of yet uncertain future for the sport with regard to the coronavirus restrictions after the summer.

The likelihood is that Rangers are going to win the league at (an empty) Parkhead. Having now resigned, Lennon won't need to face the reality of that; and Kennedy is, with the greatest of respect, a nobody, so it's unlikely the fans or the history books will dwell too long on the fact that he was in interim charge when it happens. McKay then comes in and can appoint whomever he see fit (and who would actually take the job in the current climate), both untainted by the failures of this season, and then start spewing out the usual rhetoric about rebuilding for the future blah blah blah ...

Big job in the summer for McKay and his manager, though. Going to be an absolute clean-out: Edouard away, Brown finished, all loan signings sent packing, an entire new defense, midfield, and an appropriate striker basically needed though obviously no chance that can be achieved with the current finances (13 million revenue fall posted this year, c.16%, in comparison with the season before, on account of the pandemic).

Very hard to muster any enthusiasm, tbh.

Yeah, I suspect you're right, everything there makes sense, I've just gotten conditioned to expect the utter worst.
I hope they don't offer Brown a backroom job tbh, I get the impression that he's not the best influence in terms of professionalism but may be wrong.
It is a big job but with Lennon away I can at leat feel good about supporting the club again and muster up more enthusiasm than when he was there.

Well done to Sevco on winning their first title, but mass gatherings in the middle of a pandemic? Grow a fucking brain. A points deduction would be appropriate but ineffectual (given how far ahead they are, and it would feed into the whole persecution complex their fans inexplicably seem to have), so the club should get a very big fine. Not because itís directly their fault, but because there is no other way to get through to these idiots that their behaviour is unacceptable. It has to be seen to impact on the club, or they will be too stupid to get the message.

Yes, Iíd be saying exactly the same thing if this were Celtic fans, or more to the point if it were Hearts fans. This bullshit isnít just potentially prolonging lockdown, it might well prevent Glasgow from hosting Euro 2021 games.

Totally agree docrob. Doesn't matter who the ignorant bastards support - they broke the law, endangered themselves and others, and potentially prolonged the lockdown for a large area all to celebrate a victory.

Pathetic scumbags and the reaction from the police is bewildering, escort them to George Square to have a party, fight among themselves and smash the place up in their own spreader event, WTF?
Happy to kettle and get the batons out in other cases but Rangers fans get a free pass and some selfies.

So, McIness off (unsurprisingly), do we have any sheep here?

Wow, that 2nd goal from Scotland was not very Scotlandesque.

Bit late cause been offshore but yeah. /waves

Lots of changes for us this last few weeks. Not ocnvinced Glass is going to be an improvement over McInnes but taking Brown with him is interesting to say the least. Mentally we've been shite for years. Maybe he can make a difference. Going to be interesting to see next year anyway. Massive risk with Glass. I just hope he is given money and time to put his mark on the team. Im guessing he might get it as Cormack and the board are all his chums be the sounds of it.
