Booked in for a consultation on Friday. Did ask to just go ahead with it as soon as possible as I know it's the right move but you have to go in to do it as a referral initially, then a consultation. Fortunately he's doing it all in one so won't have to go in twice.
Talked about the Mrs having the coil but she's not interested, having taken the pill for most of her adult life, I can't blame her to be fair. -

Registered 18 years agoI had to go round one GP (fertility specialist who wanted us to wait) and went to her husband who was more than happy to refer me! Similarly to mbk's, my wife didn't want any more hormones pumped into her. -

Registered 7 years agoMust just be my doctor then. He's quite an old school Indian gent. Lovely bloke, but never really kept up with modern aids. Still types on his computer with one finger. -
I had to change my GP entirely to get mine done as my GP wouldn't refer me, I was only 28 or 29 though. -
Do they still make you get your partners consent these days, because I thought that was well out of order. -

Registered 7 years agoObviously haven't gone through the whole process yet but I didn't get the impression that would be an issue when I spoke on the phone. -
@the_milkybar_kid my mate went to his doctors and he checked his balls for him before referring!
The longest part for myself was waiting for an appointment for the procedure which took just over 5 months. I can't send my samples in until August which will be 4 months after the snip! -

Registered 7 years agoKnew they had to test after the fact but didn't think about the logistics of sending in bottles of jizz. Could really do without wanking in a hospital and handing over a splattered bottle to a nurse.

Registered 20 years agoI was provided two sample pots upon the 2nd consultation and had to hand them into the local hospital after....16 weeks IIRC two weeks apart.
Handing over a jizz sample to the receptionist whist in a queue of other wankers was, to pardon the pun, an eye opener. So much awkward in one room.
I completed the paperwork ahead of time, so I didn't have to stand there doing the admin work whilst the pot stood beside the clipboard. Quietly separating as the minutes ticked on by.
I am a year on from the op now and I've had no pain which was a real concern. -

Registered 7 years agoGood luck mate. Mines next Saturday. A mate of mine had it done, went to work the next day and was home by half 10. Said his bollocks were like watermelons.
Going to ask for a sick note for the week after. God of War is what I'm starting :-D

Registered 7 years agoWe'll, that was most unpleasant. Feel like I've been repeatedly kicked in the bollocks for an hour. Thankfully the process is slightly less embarrassing as I've got to post bottles of jizz rather then hand it over to a receptionist in a full surgery.
But yeah, aside from 2 needles to the bollocks the process wasnt too bad. Hearing the doctor pull and snap rubbery tubes was wierd. Didn't have the bollocks (pun intended) to take a look. Fucking hurting now though.

Did anyone else get handed a tub of the rememnants of your tubes? They showed me parts of the tubes they took out submerged in fluid. They must send it off for Christ knows what, but weird seeing it.
