| I've sort of got a bit fed up of the bugs (mostly the fact that it regularly takes about 10 attempts to actually make the draggy box that groups people work). I've persevered for quite a while (I'm in Baldur's Gate itself and have explored most of the rest of the world other than the tales of the sword coast stuff), but now I think I might wait for a patch before I continue. |

Registered 16 years agoSweet been checking for that every day!
got fairly reasonably far into the game on my ipad mini, about level 5 character.
found the little irritations such as having to click on stuff lots of times to loot it barely noticeable after a while.
rarely crashes on mine, although I only play in 30min blasts -

Registered 14 years agoGreat, I don't have enough space on my iPad to update Baldur's Gate. How the hell much more space than the total app size do I actually need? The app is showing as 1.9GB and I've got 3.7 free- with the app installed. It's ridiculous.
Though my iPad may also be lying about how much free space I've got, I deleted 400mb of stuff and it still says 3.7GB free. Piece of shit. -

Registered 16 years agoI had the same problem, had to take loads of things off when in the end it won't need 4 gig. -

Registered 15 years agoDownloading on my iPad 1... The store page says memory is "very tight", I'll see what it means in a bit.
I had 1.7 gig free before the download, then went and deleted a movie rental and got up to 4.6 gig and it was still telling me I didn't have enough. I then closed the App Store and reopened it, and it started downloading fine. It probably only refreshes free space on startup. It's on 5.1.1, mind, before the big store refresh. -

Registered 16 years agoeasiest thing to do would be to download the app on iTunes and sync it to your ipad via cable.
Don't forget that updating apps over wifi wasn't even included with ios until 1 or 2 versions ago, so its still in early stages.
makes me happy I got the 32gb.gif)

So when does this hit Android then? -

Hm, I wonder whether it would make a difference. It's almost certainly downloading then unzipping, like the Sony consoles, which basically means you have to have double the space free. I can't shake the feeling it could have been done better.

Edit: yeah, and a 32 gb is really the minimum for someone who uses the AppStore even moderately. This one's a 16gb and I'm fighting with space all the time.

Registered 18 years agoIt's a lose-lose really. If Apple deleted the current version of app, to make room, then downloaded the patch (which is basically the whole app again) and it fails... people would be fuming.
If they don't delete the current version of the app, people are fuming that they need so much free space.
In either case theres fuckall excuse for them not updating the available space in the App Store even after a user has deleted shit from the Settings menu. That said, it's preferable to the early Android debacle of the indexer frequently locking, crashing, and silently killing the battery in the background.

Registered 16 years agoonce you actually manage to get it installed, the new update is nigh on perfect now. the main irritation i had before - clicking on stuff - is gone!

Registered 15 years agoI played for maybe an hour last night and it works very well. I had one crash when going into the load menu, but didn't lose any data as I'd just done a quick save. Otherwise, it's been solid. -

Registered 16 years agoI really hope this is successful. All I can see on forums is endless bitching, and I'd love Planescape and BG2 on Ipad. I know I'm a minority, but I preferred BG2 to Planescape, both both total classics that I'd love to have on tablet. -

Registered 9 years agoYeah, would love to have all the IE games eventually. But if they'll take this long to come out on Android, I might as well pick up an ipad somewhere down the line. -

Registered 14 years agoJust going to chip in that I think it's great too BUT even after the patch the game slows to a crawl when casting Snare or Colour Spray. Yeah, not often used spells but its painful when a handful of mages cast it at you.
Completed it the other day and the game did its final save and kicked me to the Starting screen with no conclusion as to the story. Turns out it was another bug and just watched the ending cinematic on YouTube :/ -

its obviously going to be more fiddly than the ios specifically made app. -

BGE pulled due to contractual... Complications.
BG2E's future doubtful.
