I think Bungie is smart enough to hammer out details like that before signing and Activision would be pleased to get them. They need a new success. Bungie will be left to it and Activision doing the big marketing push.

Bungie contract is pretty much as good as it gets. Activision practically more like exclusive distribution of the games and responsible for marketing etc. Only thing bungie tied to is the amount of games. Activision takes a percentage, therefore it is in their interest to just support bungie and market the hell out of the series. Bungie are 100% independent.. -

Registered 15 years agoMy first thought upon learning about Bungie's nw game Destiny was oh a SF game set in the far future where mysterious aliens are threatening mankind and the earth itself with a heavy emphasis on multiplayer. I'm glad they escaped Microsoft to do something different!
As I read the article my second thought was oh they are ripping off star wars!
Flippant comments aside, I think Bungie's has a lot of talent. They do epic and world building really well. Glad its multi format, too. -

I recently bought a new 360 and couldn't believe half of the things I have 'free' on ps3 and even wiiu I can't access unless I go 'gold' on my 360. -
See, normally something like paying for Gold would bother me, but since they provide a service that is so much better than it's competitors, I don't mind paying the £3 per month sub. -
Please, let's not get into this bollocks again. -

Registered 17 years agoI think it is going to be similar to PlanetSide, although a bit more heavy on the extreme sci-fi, what with proper aliens and all that. I expect there will be an epic campaign, but most of the onus will be on the multiplayer with a persistent universe. Again, a bit like PlanetSide. -
If this is indeed coming out for next gen consoles then I'm hoping to get a first glimpse at the new tech.
That and a new Bungie game is pretty exciting. -
As long as the gameplay goes a bit beyond normal FPS bollocks - i.e. Halo (haters gonna hate), then good. -

I think what they mean by 'appealing to the 7 year old in you' is not what you think it means.
What I got from that was that they intend to instill that sense of wonder in you.
