I'm sure this has been asked and replied to many hundreds of time, but where do I unlock mission progression ?
I bought the complete version on psn a few weeks back with the intention of getting stuck in. I have done up to level 3 patrol, I assume level means mission ?
Now I just keep doing stuff on "level 4: The Cosmodrome" when does it jump to level 5 or have I got the system all wrong.
...as you can tell I'm new to Destiny!
EDIT. Do I need to go to the Tower ?

Hey Duff,
Soo..... your mission progress is not linked to patrol. If you go to the map hub you will see landing sites that relate to the missions you have available to you. The patrol areas are mainly for the social stuff (which can be fun) -

Ok mate. It is all getting very confusing I'm currently plaing this, Nier,TF2, Gears etc.
I have Ocean of Storms/the dark beyond avalible and Old mother Earth, 3 options of which I have done multiple times, so I assume Ocean is the place to go ? -
@DUFFMAN5 there should be a little triangle (i think symbol next to the new mission available).
You may need to visit the tower to unlock new ones. Additionally you can open your character status screen scroll to quests (i think) and check to see what is outstanding there. -

you have 3 outstanding quests
2 of which require you to go to the tower and speak to people - Zavala (the purple guy at the back of the vanguard table) and Ikora (the woman at the table).
The third needs you to go to the moon area and complete the quest 'the dark beyond'
As you are playing on PS4 i cant log on and show you around i am afraid. -

Registered 14 years agoPretty sure this is a stupid question as this is Destiny we are talking about here... but any chance, with Destiny 2 right around the corner, they have done anything in the original to increase drop rates of all those shiny legendaries and exotics that simply refused to drop in the past?
I might be tempted to give this one last play through with a new character if they've made it semi-worth it. -
@M83J01P97 they have to a degree
its still destiny but it is destiny on a little bit of speed.
Having said that, the best way to level up continues to be IB which there is only one left ever -

Registered 14 years agoI just liked the idea of replaying the game from the start but with a better drop rate on gear, which I thought they might have been nice enough to do seeing as nothing will be carrying over into 2. I guess that's a little too wishful thinking though. -

Registered 14 years agoI did notice that, ever since returning after my two years hiatus, gears seems to drop much more easily nowadays. And using a 3oC before an Ultra, will often give me an exotic too.
It's certainly a much smoother process than it used to be in year 1. -

Leveled up a couple of times and completed the Eye of the Gate Lord mission on Venus to unlock Mars and the start of the House of Wolves missions.

@M83J01P97 It depends when you last played it. If you're talking about vs vanilla then it's much more generous these days. If you played during TTK or RoI they haven't changed it much since then.
