    Well chaps.

I'm going to get myself a decent MP3 player friday week (missus gets paid then:-D). Don't really have a clue as to what one to get, although it needs to be 20gb and compatible with most music formats (MP3, WAV and hopefully real player).

I expect Creative to have some decent ones....anyone you can reccomend?

I have a Zen Xtra 60GB thing and it excellent.

    Just to confirm BG: -

"Following a review of our business regarding shipment overseas, we're no longer able to accept and process orders for invoice or delivery outside of the UK.

The only exception to this rule is orders for delivery to the Republic of Ireland/Eire. "

I have a Zen. It's lovely. Definitely recommend you pick up one, especially at that price. Don't forget that Dabs add VAT though, afaik.

Splendid, and you have no problems at all with it? Does it play other music formats than MP3?

That, funnily enough, is the one I was looking at...the 20GB version.

Careful, you might wake them. ;)

The old zens quite happily play mp3, wma - not sure about real audio.

it seems to be mainstay of posers, yuppies, bono and fools with more money than sense.

What you really want is creative zen touch.

I've no idea to be honest - I rip all my CDs to MP3 anyway (mostly out of habit) and I never really read the instructions!

Yeah me too. Also, one last question :) Does the volume go loud enough to hear when outside or something? It's not noticably quiet or anything (ok that's two questions!).

Well I use mine on the Tube which can get noisy at times, and I never ever have the volume turned up more than halfway, and I can hear perfectly fine. Definitely no complaints there.

They are a bit big... the size is the only drawback I can think of though.

    Mine isn't a Zen Xtra, I think it's a Nomad something.

God no, it's nowhere near that size! It's really not all that much bigger than an iPod, I suppose. It's definitely heavier though.

I currently have the 20GB iRiver H320 Lite, great device. It has a fantastic colour screen and compatible with most music formats. It also has a built in FM radio and can function as a standard external USB hard disk. Well worth a look.

Amazon have it for sale here:

    http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/ASIN/B00065GZLW/qid%3D1105452045/026-8499163-6344424

There's some 3rd party software called iriverium which adds some amazing functionality to the iRiver, Intelligent lookup of id3 tags and realtime streaming across http.

I also have a gmini400 which is now living in a cupboard :/

Not sure what you mean by "secondary hard disk", it functions as an external USB hard disk, Windows XP detects it without the need to any drivers. It also function as a USB 1.1 host and is supplied with the necessary cables for this.

Here's the link for the iRiverium software mentioned in previous post, checkout some of the functionality added with this software, only 13 quid too!!
