    cheers wunty...

anywhere what do i do after last(lost) sinner?

I forgot how frustrating the bit before the pirate ship was but last Bastille was pretty straight forward (i can't find my way to the sentinels now, i think it is passed that person with the yore branch but i don't want to waste it)

Yeah Sentinels are past the petrified hollow. Don't worry about wasting it, there are plenty more yore branches. If you've done the Sinner you can go to Huntsmans copse next (turny room between Majula and Heide's), or down the Gutter (cat ring and some clever rolling), or if you have a branch of yore you can go shaded woods / ruins and on to brightsone cove.

ah cool :) i remember the turny room. Stupid bitch-face controls it right?

ok, tonight i go beat the sentinels, the dragonslayer and give cleric bitch what she wants.

(or i play more stick of truth)

You can do a Lautrec with Cleric Bitch first time you meet her before she moves to the turny room. Just kick her off the side. If she lands on the platform below you just fall on top of her and twat her into the water. Easier than fighting her.

This must have been asked a lot....but I'm gonna be finishing DS1 soon, should I go for vanilla DS2 on PS3, or Scholar of the first sin on PS4?

I'd go PS4. I don't think vanilla DS2 is worth playing anymore personally.

@OllyJ i would suggest taking a break between them, DS2 is great game but coming from 1 to 2 is very jarring.

    I can second this.

I've gone back to my old DS2:SotFS character (at the start of NG+) following getting The Dark Soul in DS1:R. It feels bloody weird. Control response, in particular, feels a bit wonky in DS2 (even though I'm playing both at 60fps with no vsync on the same PC).

Plus balance is totally different and there's a very obviously different philosophy to the area design.

I do still like DS2, but my word it is jarring after DS1:R.

No that's fair, I'm giving it a break as I'm going to play Onrush and Rise of the tomb Raider for a change of pace.

Then I'll jump into DS2, def need a break or i'll burn out on it.

After 3 years I finally beat Fume Knight yesterday. I respecced my character 5 times, nothing worked, then I got back to my original build (dex/faith/int, fighting with katanas and wearing Zullie's clothes) and got gud. He didn't even change into 2nd form until 3 strikes from death, I put those in as he was raising his sword and that was that.

I then got to Sir Allone and he killed me in 2 strikes. 50 fights later I got gud again and he couldn't even touch me most of the time. I'm just asking for trouble though, as that build means usually one mistake and it's over.

I'm hating how here, since enemies disappear, boss approaches are designed to clear the area before getting serious with the boss. It was so much fun in the other games to find a route of least attrition to get there as unharmed as possible. Demon's was amazing in that respect. None of that here, there's just the grind.

I've now cleared the route to the Ancient Dragon, got him down to 1/2 health a couple of times, but his area attack always gets me in the end. It's only a matter of time.

The game has its moments, but it's still by far the weakest of them all. I did look up what I need for the remaining trophies and it's such a slog.

I have DS2 remastered downloaded but unplayed. I'm working through DS3 first. Is DS2 going to feel crap compared with DS3?

I abandoned this not long after the Covetous Demon in Earthen Peak. Nothing wrong with it per se, just that other games came up. If it's anything like DS1 I'll return to it after a couple of years, get hooked and decide it's actually the Best Game Evar

Still a great game though. I have my hex build character somewhere in the undead crypt. I'm sure I was halfway through a co-op playthrough with someone on here. But then we both got distracted with other games.

I really want to see Dark Souls 2 on backward compatibility for some reason. Do it, Namco. Do it for me.

Plat for this is so much easier than three (even if three is better 😉;). Got the plat for the PS3 vanilla and for scholar on PS4 with less hassle than the DS3 plat would be now, so many covenant items...

    @wuntyphyve Ah, ok, I misunderstood.

I keep looking at what I still need to do for DS2 plat and I feel tired and old already. Just 5 trophies left, too :-(

I always start DS3, get to firelink and turn it off. For some reason, despite it being great I don't find it as fun to replay as the other two.

I always get the feeling that 3 is not as good as the sum of its parts.

Maybe because it feels too much like been there, done that. DS2 felt very different from DS1, but perhaps it actually worked in its favor because of that. If it had just been Dark Souls 1.5 then maybe I'd have felt the same.

Yeah, I'm about to fight Vordt now with my new char and 3 just doesn't have that spark for me, never has done. It feels like much more of a slog than the other 2 for some reason and I don't like the bloodborne influenced combat either. It was fine for BB, but not DS. It's taking me a while to adjust to this from DS2 that's for sure. This is going to be a mission to stick with it, but I've made a deal with myself I am so... I am!

I just prefer DS2 so much more. It's (for me) a genuinely enjoyable game to keep playing. I find it relaxing.

Trouble with 3 is that it is so obviously made with BB assets and enemies. Everything looks so drab as well. And my character looks like he's made of melting wax. I'll stick with it.

3 was fantastic, but it felt a lot like a DS1 HD megamix. Nothing wrong with that though.

2 felt like a brand new game. It's a bit janky in places but it's a lot more interesting and original.

I love the story too. Vendrick, Aldia, Nashandra, the giants. Top class.

Good god, this is the freak of the series!

After playing ds3 and Bloodborne this is something else. Seems a lot more punishing and not in a good way. Movement seems off and the multiple enemies don't help.
