Well my 19" monitor is starting to give up the ghost, every so often the red gives out, which is usually solved with a trade mark engineer thump. It is a non-branded effort that I bought off my sister. As I've never bought a monitor before, and with a budget of around £70 (Christmas took its toll). I was wondering if anyone has any thoughts. Obviously I'm probably gonna have to look on ebay, or local ads, but are there any brands to look for/avoid? Oh and obviously, this is the reason for my poor showing on CS. |
I've got a 19 incher

Registered 19 years agoI've got a whopping great big monitor for sale, it's at least a 19" and is in mint condition. (I replaced it with a TFT).
Let me know if you're interested. That said, it'd be a swine to get to you if you're living outside of Manchester!

Registered 20 years agoWhere are you based? Some of the computer markets around London are normally good for cheap deals.
I think deem picked up a decnt CRT for around £70 but it may have been a 17 not a 19". Might have been from the place in Bayswater. -

Registered 20 years agoI've got a 21 inch Eizo F77 (CRT) that I'll sell for 100 quid if anyone in London wants it...
Works a treat (one tiny pixel sized dot notwithstanding) -

Registered 19 years agoNew CTX EX series monitors are about £70-80 (for 17" models) and are good value, flat CRTs. The 19" ones are only about £125 and are worth a peek I reckon (although I don't know how good the current 19" models are, I can only go by the 17" I bought for my parents about 6 months back). -

Registered 19 years agoHeh, the band. I saw them when I was 16 at a crappy pub somewhere along Lewes Road in Brighton and thought their flyer was cool
I don't even remember the music or know if they're still around.
It's annoying the way nicknames stick -- I really want to change it. -

Yeah, OK. If my friend is going to Manchester sometime soon, I'll see if I can get her to pick it up. Obviously if you get an offer before, then go with it. Ta

She has large breasts, and jumps on people with amusing forum nicks.
