The band I'm in chose their name in haste and are now repenting in leisure, i.e. we've all gone off it.

So after a few months as 'Dazed and Confused', we've decided to change it.

    But what to?

Anybody got any killer names out there that they don't want?

7 blokes, 1 girl, all covers.
To get an idea of the stuff we play, our last set list was...

    Born To Be Wild (Steppenwolf)
    Good Thing (Fine Young Cannibals)
    Just Like Heaven (The Cure)
    Mamma Mia (Abba)
I Fought The Law (The Clash)
    Pumping On Your Stereo (Supergrass)
    My Generation (The Who)
Should I Stay Or Should I Go (The Clash)
    Babylon (David Gray)
    Take Your Mama (Scissor Sisters)
    Molly's Chambers (Kings of Leon)
    Bohemian Like You (Dandy Warhols)
    Rocks (Primal Scream)
    Last Nite (The Strokes)
    Take On Me (A-Ha)
    Don't Stop Movin' (S Club 7)
Kids (Robbie Williams & Ky;ie Minogue)
You Shook Me All Night Long (AC/DC)
    Cigarettes & Alcohol (Oasis)
Fairytale Of New York (The Pogues & Kirsty McColl)
    Merry Xmas Everybody (Slade)

Before we can make any suggestions, we need to see a picture of the girl. It's the law, kind of.

Get a copy of New Scientist, or look on the Periodic Table - science always comes up with good names.

Oh, and morriss, that comment was a bit unnecessary

    Point taken.
Most of us are just in it for a laugh and for the sheer joy of playing, rather than trying to make a career out of it. Thus playing covers means:

    a) You play stuff that people know which usually goes down better than stuff that people don't know.

    b) we get round the problem of none of us (that I'm aware of) being able to write great songs.

I shall make a note not to send you a ticket for our next gig.

Unless of course you are our bass player (also called Morriss) in which case I rather expect you to be there...

I have to say, I rather like 'My Musical Nightmare'. Might put that one forward for consideration.
The only other one I'd thought of was 'Half decent', as in...

    'Hello everybody, we're Half decent!'

Fair enough mate, not judging you on it at all. It's just that I play guitar myself and have done the last 15 years or so. I've always seen it as why bother to sit down for 2-3 hhours and learn something someone else wrote, whereas you can sit down for 2-3 hours and come up with stuff yourself? After 15 years I can't play ONE song by anyone else, and weirdly enough, I'm proud of it. However, if your playing solely to entain others, then you're hitting the nail on the head.
