Sorry for not being around this morning (as if anyone noticed!), but the missus and the nipper were in a car crash after dropping me off at work and I had to go to casualty.

They'd stopped at a roundabout and some stupid cow drove right into the back of them because she "thought they were going to set off". Now I'm not sure how they do driving tests these days, but in my day it was usually the done thing to actually wait until the other car had set off before trying to occupy the space that they are sitting in. >-(

Everyone's okay, thankfully, and the car's only a bit scuffed. The other one came off worse 'cos mine's HUGE and theirs was only a tiddler.

    Anyway... grr!

No 'Blerk's World' today, I'll have to try and catch up with some work. I'll do it tomorrow instead.

I was in a taxi that did that once. I saw it coming but I didn't say anything because...

    A) I didn't have time
    B) We weren't going that fast anyway
    C) I'm sure some part of me wanted the experience

The woman panicked and called an ambulance, so the cops turned up as well. Just had to go and find my car after the coppers moved it - he'd parked it in a field! :-)

My mum had that once, only a little more serious. She was driving my g/f to the train station and was slowing down at some lights where as the person behind started speeding up and as my mum came to a stop the person behind hit her. She got a little whiplash but nothing serious really. The other cunt decided that it was my mums fault. Fortunately the insurance company saw it our way ;)

Any insurance problems Blerko? Or are you just letting it abide? Glad to hear your families okay.

    Cheers!

The other woman admitted fault and the policeman noted it down so I presume there won't be any problems. I'll give 'em until tomorrow to call and offer to pay for the damage (shouldn't be more than £100, it's only really scratches on the bumper), otherwise I'll get the insurance onto 'em and zap their no-claims bonus. :-)

Sorry to hear this Blerk, what a horrible thing to happen. I hope everyone's ok.

I don't mean to sound cynical, but you really should go and see your solicitor - it's not unusual for the person causing the accident to try and sue the other party. Obviously if she drove into the back of your wife's car then she's at fault, but it wouldn't hurt - even if your wife is not planning on suing for personal injury, just to keep herself right in the event of the other woman turning out to be troublesome. And I assume that the police were called and so on.

Feck! I'm glad the missus and nipper are OK. You must have got a fright when you got the call to go into casualty. Hate stuff like that. And yeah, get some legal advice. It's at least worth a call to find out what the score is.

Bad luck there Blerk. Glad no-one got hurt. On a brighter note though, I should be getting a second interview at Computacenter. You may have heard of them. (if you work in IT that is) and I've been offered another position in Hitchin that they're going to hold open for me until I decide I want to start.

I think someone's been doing the Roleplaying Games in the master bedroom.

Congrats, Sir. You can now level up.

Good news on the small damage to vehicle, that was a close'un.

Is everybody over fertile or something? Are you two expectant fathers also?!

Congrats Blerk - way to turn this into a happy thread! \O/

Shaken but not stirred. At least she's over the morning sickness now - she could quite easily have emptied her breakfast all over the other driver a few weeks back. :-)

Luckily not yet. But it doesn't hurt to educate oneself early.

Rather well, am awaiting confirmation of 2nd interview at Computacenter, and have been offered a temp to perm position at a company in Hitchin. Also thinking of applying for a position in customer services at Jagex in Cambridge (would mean moving in with gf though, so undecided at the moment)

    ComputaCenter huh.

Was contracted to them for a few years. You get to move around lots as they have a SHITLOAD of places they look after.

Cambridge is very expensive Rob. My tiny bedsit near the station cost me £400 a month in rent and that was 5 years ago. Too many rich students and not enough decent rental properties. My boss used to commute from Hitchin as it was a cheaper place to live.
