Someone just sent me a link to this site where you can register your mobile number and unique IMEI number (press *#06# on your phone to find it). Then, if your phone is lost or stolen, you call them and they block the SIM card as well as the handset so it can't be used with any mobile network. It's registered in the MEND database which the police use too so if they recover it they can trace it back to you :] Edited by username at 15:56:49 13-01-2005 |

Registered 20 years agoHmm, it's not actually spam! Can't quite see the point of it. Sure you can register your phone with the national database, but your point of contact when your phone is nicked is still your phone company, as normal. The only thing it offers seems to be the possibility of getting your old phone returned. Which you'll probably have replaced anyway. Wheee! -

Registered 18 years agoIt occurred to me after I posted that it may look like spam. I was just trying to make the subject relevant because of the new subject only search :/
Still useful to get your phone back in some cases - especially if all your numbers are still on there or you don't have phone insurance. -
Ah, but the search is back to being full text now! It almost works too! Except if you want to look at page 2 of the search that is...
