So this could be the same time as Fallout 3 then? -

Now I'm in two minds. If they make it current gen it might actually work... -

Registered 10 years agoI am more of a fantasy RPG guy over Sci fi. But I enjoyed Fallout 3 more than Skyrim.
I wonder if we are going to California? -
I'll add my vote to the 'next gen' thing too.
Loved Fallout 3 to bits, but although I enjoyed New Vegas it was just too samey for me to truly get into it like I did with FO3. -

They just need to not mess up all of the game play. -

If it still uses gamebryo, I'm out. Also, after the sheer amount of bugs in Oblivion, FO3, NV and Skyrim, It's unlikely I'll be picking it up until a year after release.
It could be next gen, but it's not going to be a massive graphical leap over FO3 or Skyrim. It'll still use Bethesda's wonky engine that looks great from a distance, and horrific up close.
Either way, I loved Fallout New Vegas, so colour me excited. -

I think it'll be a Skyrim engine game, and as far as Next Gen console release? I imagine they'll do medium detail release current gen, high detail for the next gen ones and glorious PC options for the wonderbox owners. Can't see why they can't release it on every platform that way. They'll focus on current gen I reckon because that is where the money is, mop up as much as possible out of the Skyrim engine with the big install base. -

Skyrim was still gamebryo, just a tweaked version of it under a different name.

Yeah, it'll be that version of it is what I meant, but nothing more fancy. -

Registered 16 years agoThis could be the game which would make me buy a next-gen console.
In other news this is my 100th followed thread -
Skyrim isn't gamebryo, it just uses a few parts of it as middleware. You might as well argue that the Source engine is just a tweaked Quake 1 engine under a different name. -

Registered 16 years agoI am sure this will be next gen. It's been far to quiet on the next Fall out game front considering it's such a big seller.
I suspect Just Cause 3 is also next gen given Avalanche won't say anything about it. -

I think Avalanche already confirmed it's next gen only.

@Armoured_Bear I seem to remember them being quite cagey on the subject. From what I remember they say they have next gen projects but have not confirmed what any of them are.
I actually think Just Cause 3 would be a perfect next gen launch title. Given what Avalanche have achieved on the current gen with Just Cause 2 I can see the next game being a perfect thing to show off better spec hardware.
