Registered 12 years agoDjango was awesome but I didn't expect to see it on the best picture list. Not surprised to see Argo there though. -
Dunno, Lincoln is also massive Oscar bait. -

Registered 12 years agoI know this has been said for years but it still seems strange when films get nominated for best picture, yet the director doesn't get a nod for the best director Oscar. -

It does seem a bit odd, but "best picture" is generally thought of as the unofficial "best producer" award, so I suppose there's no real reason why they go together.

I think after artsy-farsty Artist last year and the British invasion Kings Speech the year before, the Academy will be well in the mood to let a big bombastic "God Bless America" type film cleaning up this year.
Wouldn't be hugely surprised if Les Mis got largely snubbed in favour of Lincoln. Hathaway will get it, but that could be it. -

Day Lewis is a shoe in for best actor.
Day Lewis playing Abraham Lincoln fighting for freedom, the union (re:U.S.A) and to end slavery, no one else has a chance.
Im going Lee or Speilberg for director.
Lincoln for best film not on merit for similar reason to why Day Lewis will win.
Edit: Is tarintino nominated for screenplay at all?

Registered 12 years agoI've only seen Brave but heard a good things about a few of the others. Good to see Wreck-It Ralph made the list, it's annoying we have to wait so long for a release over here. -

The big omission is 'Rise of The Guardians' which was the great white animation hope this year.

Golden Globes results have thrown the bookies into a spot of chaos. Most pundits thought Lincoln would be a walk for Best Picture, Director and Actor for both Oscars and Globes. -
