Yeah, I've found that if I actually aim for the head I get a headshot (surplise). I'm having to unlearn what I have learn which is aim in the general direction and fire. [MH] |

Registered 18 years agoYou can only really learn by playing the game and watching what the good players are doing. Shooting might appear to be the most important thing, but actually its anticipation and where the enemy is likely to be. And that can only be learnt through experience.
The mechanics ( point / fire ) are the easiest bit of the game - situational awareness, player positioning, map tactics and teamwork are the keys to CS. -

Registered 19 years agoYeah, always stay together. Don't let someone with a tac-shield run off alone. Use them as cover and when possible flank the enemy.
Also, the SAW is not an assault weapon. It is best used to suppress chokepoints allowing team-mates to get into position. It's also quicker to implement than a grenade.
The q key is your friend. By default it is bound to swapping to your last weapon. When your clip is nearly depleted and you have no time to re-load use it to swap to your pistol. You can get a great rate of fire with a pistol and even if it doesn't kill armoured enemies easily it will slow them down and screw up their aiming. Those few seconds could be enough for support to arrive. -

Registered 19 years agoBots, for those of us coming straight from Battlefield, Tribes, and Call of Duty to CS:S. They won't whine, flame, teamkill or use exploits. *rubs hands with anticipation*
Ah, it's easy to be new and have no expectations about one's performance. Mostly you're just happy when you survive the round (or live long enough to expend more than a magazine worth of ammunition), manage to plant or defuse the bomb, manage to actually drop someone with your first burst of gunfire, or have a kill-tally that's marginally higher than your death tally.gif)
