Sounds like most Stephen King made-for-telly adaptations. Full of potential, but unbelievably bad.

Had Jean Claude Van Damme from the Coors adverts as the main bad guy.

It was more luck than judgement that it turned out ok as it was horrifically low budget.

But it's still good. Luck or no luck.

Under the Dome is so bad it makes Revolution look well written.

Any impressions from the new episode, any better. I haven't watched it yet myself. Want to know if I should bother.
  • Deleted user 18 July 2013 15:20:16
The last one was a bit better, but not by much.

It seriously does remind me of Jericho though. Even some of the characters are basically identical (New guy in town! Is he new? Is he involved? CAN HE BE TRUSTED?), and the setup is the exact same "HOW WILL THE TOWN SURVIVE? We shall answer that in the last few minutes. Meanwhile, here's a situation or dilemma that can be solved in the case of a single episode! A viral outbreak! A house fire!" one.

I just know we'll all look back in years and agree that the best one was the one where they were all ill in hospital.

    Brilliant telly.

Cheers meme. Sounds like it's worth a punt. Plus, truth be told, I'm interested to see what happens to Junior when his Dad finds out he's go a visitor in the shelter.

Last episode was better and moves things along at least. Watch it and you will watch the next one.

Characters are like echoes of every bad Stephen King TV film. Don't know if that is a knock on writers or King himself.

This is my issue, I keep getting suckered in by the next daft cliffhanger.

    Yes, I'm guilty too.

    Still watching this utter garbage.

    When's the next one? :p

3/4 of the way through the book - pretty good, I think.

Sounds like this veers off from cannon ?

Yes. To the point where speculation is basically meaningless.

    I'm still watching it!
Tonight's wasn't too bad, it moved the plot on a bit I suppose.
Although what I did realise, when it attempted a LOST-esque episode climax, was that I don't give a toss about any of the characters on the show, there isn't a single one that's even slightly likeable.
I'll probably keep tuning in just to find out what the dome is, but it's not particularly engaging in any way.

I was surprised to see that Microsoft had a mention in the credits, the product placement must've been super subtle...

Yeah, not so bad this week. Will be interesting to see whether Junior gets back his hostage

Maybe i was just paying more attention this week but the acting from all the younger folks in this is fucking dire.

Add to that the gross product placement scene this week and i'm considering dumping this.

    @spudsbuckley
Other than Big Jim, Junior (And he's just playing the cliché crazy teen role) and Barbie, I can't think of any actor in this that's anything but bloody awful.
It's one of the most poorly acted, fairly big budget, shows I've ever seen.

I love the bit when the cop says no one is to touch the dome then 10 seconds later she's fucking kissing it

Another corker would be "13:15??. "
" Yes, that's army time, it means quarter past one"

I've caught up with it now. It's not very good is it.

The "sssh" thing was unintentionally hilarious and what's going on with that girl's face? Did it get run over?
