Registered 7 years agoI was put off right at the beginning when the plane hit the outside of the dome and then fell inside. If they couldn't get that bit right there was no hope for the rest of it. -

Registered 16 years agoWrinkly, you're assuming competence on a show where there is very little at any level. There really isn't. The plane was inside the dome, but that didn't stop the effects people rendering it in a way that might suggest the opposite. It was inside. Someone was on a flying lesson and flew over several town landmarks to make sure it was clear.
Edit: Actually having watched that bit again I'm being unfair. It's clearly inside the Dome. Sorry effects people, you're alright.

Registered 7 years agoOh bollocks. Apologies are required.
Anyway, bored with Under the Dome, now watching Game of Thrones. No planes involved.

Registered 17 years agoThis series started off so well IMO with the really interesting concept of a dome surrounding a town and trapping people inside it. Although the characters were two-dimensional, the survival situations and the ongoing mystery of what the dome was and why it was there kept me watching.
The series went rapidly went downhill during the second season when it became clear they were running out of ideas. The third season was just awful and I could only watch it while I was doing something else, usually browsing on my iPad. The finale was just terrible and I am just thankful that the series has been cancelled. Season 3 was bad B-movie quality at best with the silly alien invasion storyline (yawn).
Perhaps it would have worked best as a mini-series because the concept was stretched wafer thin as a 10 episode per season TV series. -

Registered 16 years agoThinking it ended as it started is a very positive thing to say. It's more positive than I could ever be, and I can find something positive in most things, you big Under the Dome fanboy. -

Registered 18 years agoA combination of three weekends of heavy drinking, therefore three very sedentary Sundays, has meant that I've basically watched all of this in the last few weeks.
Holy shit was that bad. Like really fucking awfully bad. I thought it had been made over a decade ago it had so little going for it, but apparently started in 2013?!
I sat through it mainly out of apathy, usually doing something else at the same time, and what was an interesting premise in the first season was so utterly shat on by ridiculous characters that somehow got MORE ridiculous in the second season, and they'd fucked it so badly that they basically decided to (apparently) re-imagine the entire origin of the Dome vs. the novel and have some sub-Fringe level horseshit to masquerade for a final season.
Needless to say I've quit drinking. -
It started watchably bad then got to the point where I thought it completely unwatchable, fuck knows how some shows get ever get greenlit let alone renewed.
