I'm going to see this tonight. 3D IMAX too.

After the crushing dissapointment of Jurassic World, I'm kind of hoping I'll enjoy this more.

My mate went to see it. He was expecting it to be shit but thought he would enjoy it anyway as he is a big Terminator fan and thought he could accept it is a tongue in cheek parody/homage.

He walked out after less than an hour.

That's why you don't intentionally go to see films you think will be shit, really :D

Sometimes you really need to see things with your own eyes, just to be sure.

Yeah I'll never understand that mentality. It's the same with TV shows on here, where week in week out the same person will tell everyone else how awful a particular show is.
"Stop watching it then, you daft twat!"

I'm pretty sure all of the Twilight films are shit, sooo I simply haven't bothered watching them. Simple really.

Sometimes films can be shit but enjoyable. I knew Prometheus was going to be shit but I still watched it in the theatre and I enjoyed watching it, despite its shitness.

It is surprising how some movies that sound like they would be shit turn out to be really awesome. If someone described a movie as one extremely long car chase, a main actor that mostly grunts, a cheesy 'she's dead... No she isn't!!' scene, grandmother hippy amazon bikers, people who spraypaint their mouths before they try to die ridiculous deaths and some guy riding around the top of a car all day playing metal I wouldn't think that that film could turn out as anything but a silly b-movie.

On the other hand that does sound cooler than 'Resistance fighter gets send back into time to safe the world, robot gets send after him to kill him, same robot from a different timeline fights himself and other robots to save him... Also Arnold Schwarzenegger...also young cgi Arnold'

Why is the terminator the size and shape of Arnie? In the first terminator when all the skin is burnt off its just a standard metallic skeleton so why massive arms etc etc?

I read a review that said how carefully they'd recreated the scenes from the original... and then I saw those clips compared. Holy crap. =/

Since they're CGI-ing old Arnie into it again, they might as well have done it for Bill Paxton.

They should have just CGI'd the whole of the original movie on top of this one, it would be amazing then.

It likes to work out alot so it can terminate easier. Nothing wrong with being dedicated to your job.

That scene with the punks is weird. The timing of the delivery of CGI Arnie's line just seems a little...off.

I was expecting them to do something a bit cleverer with the timeline like they did in BTTF2 and have things happen around existing scenes from the original film rather than reshoot them with different actors.

Apparently Arnie has a new catchphrase.

Did they CGI the background in the new punks scene? The lighting is awful.

Just like everything in this day and age peoples attitude and perspetive on things has changed so much they change what the originality was and try give it a brand new twist but us older people look at it like a pile of smoking hot turds because they ruin what was once great :( bad times

I'm not expecting it to better either 1 or 2 quality wise, there wasn't a chance in hell that it would, but the general opinion seems to be that it's more entertaining than 3 or 4, and for me both of those movies had their 'cool' moments. (Prefer Salvation to RotM)
So I'm actually kinda looking forward to seeing it tonight, I'm going in with a positive attitude. :)

T2 isn't that great these days either, with the annoying kid and lack of cities being destroyed in the last 40 minutes.
  • Deleted user 2 July 2015 15:39:46
why does "oh it's about those robots who were cool in that one 80s movie" have more of a draw than "lots of critics have seen this film and say that it's good" ?

    art is dead.

Still can't believe it's 12a. I know Hollywood no longer takes risks, but come on, it's a fucking Terminator film.

I realise the last to were PG or something similar.
