The thing is big screens are ridiculous for a phone, but not for mini computers which is what these are, the s2 screen size is the best compromise imo. |

Registered 18 years agoAll new phones are showing decreasing marginal returns. I see nothing in the S4 that would take me from my S2.
Think I will wait for the next Nexus device. -

Registered 18 years agoThey can't fit in all that power and battery size if they make them smaller, well they could but would be bricks. Large and thin is all they can get away with. -
CVG have got a picture of an apparent first party joypad with dual analogues for the s4. -

Registered 13 years agoI'm due an upgrade in August, so might consider this, but my S2 battery does not last long, so I hope this has a far better battery life than that. -
It's gone a bit quiet recently, but the various mobile networks put their tarrif and handset costs out yesterday. Surprisingly, the costs of the S4 on contract seem to be heavily undercutting those of the iPhone for the most part, with at least 1 network (3) offering the handset for free.
I was expecting at least £200 for the S4 and from a glance, it seems EE are charging megabucks for the handset but as their data allowances are miserable 4G or not I'd give them a miss.
Pre-ordered one last night though I'm moving away from O2, they weren't budging on anything so after 4 years it's off to new pastures.

Preordered this morning, through Carphone Warehouse via Quidco. Got the handset free, £37 per month on the Three One Plan (unlimited data), a free Galaxy Tab 2 7" tablet, free 32gb sd card, case, charger, screen protector and £35 cashback.
I'm moving away from Orange after over a decade. The only thing I'll miss is the free Deezer access through swapables.

Registered 11 years agoGot the option to cancel or upgrade my Vodafone contract next month.
Do I sell my Galaxy S2 and Galaxy Tab 8.9 and switch to just an S4?
Hmm...

Registered 11 years agoI've a s2 and I picked up an official extended battery last week. The difference is huge. Easily get 2 odd days out of it. No need to upgrade at all... -
Second hand S2s are still going for about £170 on ebay, which I was surprised about, I was expecting about £100 from Mazuma etc. -

What battery did you get? I need one as mine is awful. Can you link it for us. Does it make the phone much bigger?

I was either going to get one of those and hold out getting a new phone or take punt on the nexus 4.. -
Why do Samsung insist on such cheap nasty plastic casing? Really interested in the s4 but fuck me does it feel cheap. -

Registered 15 years agoLoving mine so far. Coming from 4 years of various iphones, its a big change to the Android os but the screen is gorgeous and the level of customisation is amazing. Really pleased. -

Registered 14 years agoI had both the original Galaxy and the S2 which was terrific. I've just checked out the S4 and it makes an awful first impression (particularly sat next to the HTC One). I think it is made out of the same grade of materials as Petit Filou pots. The specs are top notch but I'd sooner pay a bit more or settle for a bit less for a phone that doesn't feel like it came free with a Happy Meal.

Got one of these the other days. The nexus 4 was just lacking in too many areas. Love it, overloaded with gunk that is tacky and does nothing but fill up half my memory card but easy enough to ignore. Kinda. Love the nice light feel of it but my word is that nasty plastic. Same day I got it - handling it with kiddy gloves - there is the smallest chips started along the bezel. Utterly minute but not happy with how quickly it happened.
Anyway, bought a case for it but my new headphones won't fit in
anyone had any experience with adapters and cam recommend a decently built, super thin one. -
Had a play around with an S4 Mini, really nice to hold in the hand and (for me) the perfect form factor. Anyone got one? I'd be coming from an S2.
